Challenge #16
Challenge #16 will extend through the end of the school year. Remember, we encourage weekly postings from all staff members. This challenge aligns with our wellness initiatives and our core value of being positive even in the face of adversity. We want to team-up together and create an SG digital scrapbook using Padlet as the platform! The scrapbook will be a part of an upcoming staff celebration. Challenge #16 is simply this: each week submit something that you are personally thankful for, something inspirational, an enlightening moment, etc. It can be personal or professional. Whatever it is, it should come from your heart. Pictures, quotes, personal or professional journal snip-its are are all welcome ideas. We are emphasizing something from the heart that is aligned with wellness (promotes well-being or positivity). Please make your weekly submission at https://padlet.com/chadharrison/gp2c2qe9j6j4. Also, please be sure to include your name in your post.

Students Not Communicating or Submitting Assignments: In an effort to continually identify students that are not communicating or submitting assignments, please complete the google form at https://forms.gle/2L1ABPyVyza9nuA47. This document will be on-going and continuous while we are operating remotely because we understand there are numerous dynamics impacting students. Feel free to use this form to provide multiple updates on the same student. Redundancy is welcomed! The more real-time information from multiple instructors or even the same instructor, the better. New St. Georges Team Member
Ashley Jackson joined the NCCVT family in 2014 as the Legal Support Services program coordinator and instructor at Howard High School of Technology. Prior to teaching, she worked in the legal industry as an attorney and child advocate for six years. While at Howard, Ashley served as the chairperson of her cluster, instructional team leader, 2019 Class Advisor and Co-advisor for Howard Leading Ladies Club. As a career instructor, she loved assisting students in obtaining meaningful work experience and honing their employability skills. She is very excited to join the St. Georges team and assist our students in becoming career ready! She is a self-proclaimed foodie and can be found trying out new recipes. Outside of work, Ashley enjoys a good Netflix binge with her family. We are excited to welcome Ashley as our new co-op coordinator and work alongside her as we continue to ensure our students and teachers are learning and growing everyday!

Avast Ye Shipmates! This Buccaneer Received a Shout Out!
Shout out to Josh Rickner for surprising Jared Hayes, 9th-grade student, with a sign and encouraging words on his birthday. When I thanked Josh for going above and beyond to celebrate Jared's birthday, he responded that "it's not going above and beyond when your kids mean everything!" Perfect response, Josh! ~ Shanta Reynolds
"I want to thank everyone that planned and supported Thursday's senior curbside pickup. It was outstanding seeing our staff members cheer and celebrate our students through their facemasks through the pickup line. To sum it up, we couldn't have asked for a more efficient experience for our seniors considering the circumstances. A special thanks to Jamie Williams for shouldering the bulk of the responsibility." ~Shanta Reynolds
"I am proud to announce that all of my seniors have completed their assignments for Senior Math. I want to thank everyone who assisted me in this challenge, especially Josh Rickner, who assisted me with IM2 lessons which enabled me to concentrate on the seniors."
~Maureen Farrell
"Special thanks to Diane Eklund for successfully getting our students through last week's round of virtual exploratory rotations. Diane communicated with students, staff, and parents to be sure that the last group of freshmen were provided the best exploratory opportunities possible. Due to Diane's diligence, students communicated with our CTE instructors and completed activities that helped them gain a deeper understanding of the career areas preparatory for reapplication." ~Chad Harrison
