Good Afternoon RPI Families,

RESPECT. PRIDE. INTEGRITY. The Rocket Way. I know that earlier in the year, I challenged you to discuss these character traits with your kids. Now, it is time to revisit them.

Tomorrow, we will be meeting with both the 5th and 6th grade classes individually. Not only will we reset our expectations for student behavior and academics, but also talk specifically about these three words. If you can, please specifically talk to your kids about RESPECT and INTEGRITY.

I was fortunate to have a conversation with some students the other day about integrity. I've always love the definition of integrity as: doing what is right, even when no one is looking. Which leads into respect. If we (and I mean all of us) respect one another, OUR building, OUR teachers, OUR paraprofessionals, our noon monitors, our kitchen staff, integrity shines through. When it comes to your students teacher team, Mrs. Whitaker and me, I have doubts that our kids are living The Rocket Way. However, when it comes to others, some of our kids struggle. So, I invite you to have this conversation with them. They will hear it from Mrs. Whitaker and me tomorrow.

It takes a village! We need you.
