THIS WEEK AT THS
The Leadership Team at Tustin High consists of administrators and teacher leaders across all departments. On Thursday, Dr. Bojorquez led the Leadership Team in analyzing student data to identify areas of success and growth. The team brainstormed ideas and action steps to help our students achieve even greater success. We are grateful for their creativity, hard work and leadership!
Students and families provide important insights and suggestions to our work. Please join us this coming Tuesday and Wednesday for a series of community meetings to learn about test scores, programs, budgets and ways to get involved!
Tuesday 9/10 @ 4 pm - School Site Council (Room 805)
School Site Council (SSC) is a group of students, parents, and staff that meets four times a year to discuss and vote on decisions regarding school goals and budget. All are welcome to attend.
Tuesday 9/10 @ 5 pm - PTO Meeting (Room 805)
The Parent & Teacher Organization is a group of parent volunteers who organize fundraisers and events to celebrate students and staff. Joining PTO is a great way to meet other parents and learn about volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
Wed 9/11 @ 5 pm - Title I Parent Meeting (THS Library)
THS is a Title I school…what does this mean for us and how does it impact your student? Learn about THS services, assessment results, school goals and parent involvement opportunities.

Support Our Gift Card Drive!
As part of our "Go Big RED" PBIS program, we will be recognizing students throughout the year for excellent achievement, effort, attendance and character. During the month of September, we are collecting $5 gift cards that will be used as student rewards. We welcome any gift cards that teens would enjoy, such as Starbucks, In N Out, McDonald's, The Habit, 7 Leaves, Dollar Tree, Target, Amazon and more!
Gift cards can be dropped off on any school day between 7:30-4:30 in the Front Office.
Game of the Week
Come out and support our athletes during Game of the Week! Students who attend can clear FIVE detention hours. Check in with Coach Bossenmeyer during this week's game to verify your attendance!
COUNSELING
PSAT for 11th Grade Students
Each year, TUSD administers the PSAT to all interested 11th grade students. This is a FREE Practice SAT given to all 11th grade students. Participation in the exam not only gives you practice for the SATs and gives you results so you know what to study, but it also makes you eligible for many scholarships including the National Merit Scholarship.
The PSAT is only offered to 11th grade students who register for the exam. The exam will take place at THS on Saturday, October 26, 2024. If you would like to register to take the PSAT, please fill out the survey via Google survey by no later than September 13, 2024, at 3:30 pm. Late registration will not be accepted.

Senior College Kickoff on October 1
Seniors, get ready for an exciting journey through the world of higher education! This is your chance to get the inside scoop and start envisioning your next big adventure! All seniors will attend presentations during Government and Econ classes on Tuesday, October 1.

UC Application Info
The University of California application is now open! Students can submit their application between October 1-November 30. Start early to allow enough time for reflection and feedback from peers and mentors before submitting this fall.

Service Academy Information Session
Service Academy Information Session
Congresswoman Young Kim will be holding her Service Academy Information Session on Saturday, September 14th, at the Lake Forest Performing Arts Center.
Representatives from the U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and U.S. Coast Guard Academy will be present, as well as representatives from the DoD Medical Examination Review Board and LA Strategic Officer Recruiting Detachment. They will be speaking on the admissions process, application requisites and scholarship opportunities, and Representative Kim's office will also be discussing the congressional nominations process. The Service Academy Information Session is open to all grade levels, family members, faculty, etc.

Save the Date! Hispanic Heritage Night 10/16/24
Our annual Hispanic Heritage Month celebration will be held on October 16 in conjunction with Report Card Night. This fun and festive event is held as a kermés (Mexican festival) with food, drinks, music, games and student performances. City of Tustin Teens in Action Program
The Tustin Teen in Action (TTA) program provides local teens with the chance to engage in meaningful community service, develop leadership skills, and connect with their peers. We are currently looking for motivated students who are interested in making a positive impact in our community through this program.
