OCTOBER 7, 2024
Message from the Principal
Dear Kimball Hill Parents,
October, with its anticipation of Halloween, is a month filled with excitement for our students. We are eager to celebrate Halloween again this school year. To ensure a memorable and enjoyable experience for all, please take a moment to review our plans and expectations below for October 31st. We look forward to a fun-filled celebration! If your child is unable to participate, we will provide an alternative fall-themed activity. Please notify your child's teacher by October 25th if they will not be participating.
As a reminder, there will be an abundance of costumes available if your child needs one. Please stop by our costume pick up Saturday, October 19th in front of school from 9-10am.
Enjoy a wonderful weekend!
As always, please email me with any questions, concerns or feedback.
Warmly,
Michelle LaCamera
Kimball Hill Principal
Fire Safety
Kindergarten and 2nd grade students recently had a fire safety lesson presented by Firefighter Steve from our RMFD. They learned important safety tips, including what to do in case of a fire emergency. Firefighter Steve visited the class, demonstrating his firefighting gear and equipment. The children were fascinated by his tools and uniform.
To reinforce the lessons learned, please discuss fire safety with your child at home. Ensure that your home has working smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.
Finally, please consider attending the Rolling Meadows Fire open house. More information about the event is included in the attached flyer.
Halloween Celebration and Costume Guidelines
School Wide Parade 1:30-1:45 pm
Students in Pre-K to 5th grade will be parading in their costumes outdoors. Parents are invited to watch the parade from the designated grassy area outside the yellow line, as shown in the attached picture. Please note that the outdoor parade is weather-dependent and will not be rescheduled if it's inclement. In case of bad weather, the parade will be moved indoors for students only. We hope for favorable weather conditions for this fun event!
Classroom Party 1:50-2:50 pm
After the Halloween parade, students in Pre-K to 5th grade will enjoy a classroom party sponsored and organized by our PTA and parent room representatives. School dismissal will be at 3:05 PM.
Students are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to school for the day. We look forward to seeing our students dressed in festive Halloween or fall attire. However, we strongly emphasize the importance of choosing costumes that are comfortable and appropriate for a school environment. Costumes that do not adhere to our guidelines will not be permitted. Please carefully review the costume guidelines before selecting your child's outfit.
For students who do not celebrate Halloween, they will have the opportunity to participate in a fall-themed independent activity in the library.
Page 22 - Parent/Student Handbook
