2023-2024 AMP Happenings

The final week of the 2023-2024 school year have arrived! This is the final edition of the AMP Happenings for this school year. The following are the events and happenings for the week of May 27th.

• Monday, May 27, 2024 - Student/Staff Holiday (Memorial Day)
• Monday, May 27, 2024 - James Madison High School Graduation @ 2:30PM in the Alamodome
• Tuesday, May 28, 2024 - Semester Exams for Underclassmen (4th and 6th Periods)
• Wednesday, May 29, 2024 - Semester Exams for Underclassmen (2nd and 5th Periods)
• Thursday, May 30, 2024 - Semester Exams for Underclassmen (1st and 7th Periods)
• Thursday, May 30, 2024 - Early Release for HS @ 2:00PM
• Friday, May 31, 2024 - Semester Exams for Underclassmen (3rd and 8th Periods)
• Friday, May 31, 2024 - Early Release for HS @ 2:00PM
• Friday, May 31, 2024 - Last day of classes for the 2023 - 2024 School Year

On Monday, May 27th at 2:30PM in the Alamodome, 124 AMP Seniors will cross the stage and become official graduates of James Madison High School and the Agriscience Magnet Program.

We give a huge congratulations to every student and their families for reaching such a monumental milestone in their lives and we look forward to the bigger and better things yet to come for each graduate.

The following measures are in place to provide safety to the JMHS campus and AMP Complex:

• NEISD has a closed campus policy. Students cannot leave campus during school hours, including lunchtime, without authorization from a parent/guardian, school administration, and obtaining a pass from the attendance office.
• Parents/guardians needing to make deliveries to AMP students during school hours must bring the items (school supplies, clothing, payments, food, etc.) into the AMP Administration office for delivery to students. We will not be allowing students to go into the parking lot to pick up deliveries.

San Antonio College (SAC) is offering two TSI English Boot Camp sessions this summer to prepare students to take the English portion of the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) exam.

Dates: June 6th or July 11th

Times: 9:00AM to 12:15PM (a free lunch will be served at 12:15PM); After lunch, students will take the TSI English exam in the SAC Assessment Center

Seniors will receive ONE FREE Final Transcript to be sent to one college/university of their choice. Please follow the instructions found in the attached Senior Final Transcript Instruction Sheet to ensure proper submission. Students, parents,, or guardians can complete the online request from May 6, 2024 - June 6, 2024 (4:00PM CST). All requests submitted before will be DENIED and any requested after the designated window will pay the $5.00 fee per transcript.

The Spring 2024 Semester Exam Schedules for underclassmen have been released and are available below.

The AMP office will be open from 8:15AM to 4:30PM daily with Mrs. Cooper being on lunch break from 12:00 noon to 12:45PM. If you wish to make an appointment, we can be reached at (210) 356-1517.
