November 19th - Science Fair
Our 2nd Annual Science Fair is not far away. It will take place November 19th in the OCEAN portables and starts at 5:30. We are hoping as many K-5 and high school families take part as possible! Present your findings or come for a visit. All are welcome!
Here are some online resources:
Science Fair- youth inspiration
K-5 students were sent home this week with a "Parent Sign off Sheet" that is Due November 5th. It identifies what project the student will be working on at home. They were also sent home a list of all the ways your student can choose to present their knowledge. Check the backpacks :).
K-5 Halloween fun & Science Fair parent help session
We are excited to celebrate Halloween with your child next week. If your family celebrates Halloween, feel free to send your child to school in costume on Thursday October 31st (it would be great to hold costumes to just that day and be costume free Tuesday so we can focus on learning). If anyone wants to send a snack or Halloween-y non candy treat to share on Thursday, that would be swell! As your family is deciding on school costumes, please keep in mind we do not allow even fake weapons on school campus and that we will have a range of ages with our youngest being 5 y.o. so... nothing toooooo scary please! Thanks for your support.
If anyone wants help with their Science Fair project MB will be holding a parent/caregiver - student - MB work session on Friday November 1st at 10AM. MB will have supplies for an experiment BUT if you have a specific experiment you want to do, please bring the supplies you need. I expect the Science Fair work session will be done by 11:30. FYI. This is an optional opportunity.

Weight training at PTHS
The after-school weightlifting and agility training program offered at the High School is a wonderful opportunity for middle and high school students within the PT School District to improve their physical and mental well-being. This extracurricular activity provides conditioning for athletes so that they can excel at their sport and reduce injury. It is also a great opportunity for non- athlete students to build skills and confidence that will last a lifetime for maintaining their physical and mental fitness.
The program is run by Logan Stegner, the PTHS Weight Training Teacher, and Brooks Kubik, a local community member who has over 40 years of weight training experience, including publishing over a dozen books on weight training. The program runs at the high school weight room 3:30-5:00 most days of the week, and this will be updated daily on the communication app SportsYou.
All interested family members can download our communication app., SPORTSYOU. The team you need to join is Rivals Fall 2024 Weight Training, joining code is: PXWN-VSA4.
We encourage parents to show up, check out our space and the program, and encourage your middle school and HS kids to try a session!
