This week’s Golden Paw Staff awards go to:

Sue Luciano, Third Grade and Stephanie Lopez, Instructional Coach

"Mrs. Luciano is truly an amazing teacher. She has an unparalleled ability to meet a student wherever they are academically or behaviorally and find a way to make them grow in ways and amounts that you would not think are possible. Everyday day she plans engaging instruction that meets the varied needs of her students and empowers them to take ownership of their learning. When you walk into her room you are welcomed by the sound of students collaborating with one another and discussing the task or challenge. Sue collaborates with her grade level team and teachers around campus to ensure that all students are being provided with the best opportunities possible. She also serves as the technology coach and assists teachers with implementing computer-based learning programs and assists them with embedding technology into their regular teaching practices. Sue truly is an amazing teacher and gift to the Walker community."

"I nominate Stephanie Lopez for the Golden Paw Award because she is passionate about working with children. Her genuine love for kids is evident in the warmth and enthusiasm she brings to their interactions. In addition, she is creative and resourceful in her approach to challenges, and is always willing to collaborate with others, lending a listening ear, in order to support staff and students. Stephanie’s ability to empathize and understand others makes her not only a skilled professional but also a supportive team member."

A reminder that every Wednesday will be early release for students. School will dismiss at 12:00pm.

• Please do not exit and leave your car if you are using the car line to drop off or pick up your child.
• Please be sure that you communicate how your child will be going home each day. Please try to keep it as consistent as possible. We also ask that you do not change how a student will be getting home after 1:00pm. This will ensure that it can communicated in time to the classroom teacher.
• If you are picking your child up after school we ask that you have a sign in your car or that you carry a sign with your child's name (first name and last initial), grade, and teacher.
• A reminder that the shoulder along Roller Coaster is not Walker Elementary School property and it is illegal to park in the bike lanes and unsafe to park there. Please utilize the parking spaces within the Walker Elementary School parking lot if you would like to meet your child at the West Gate for dismissal.
