Dear Roadrunner Families ~
Highlights from the week include:
- Grades 3–5 began SBA State Testing this week, and our students showed focus, perseverance, and pride as they tackled their assessments. A huge thank you to our K–2 students and teachers for filling the hallways with encouraging notes, drawings, and messages that lifted everyone’s spirits—your words truly made a difference!
Our Kindergarten students wowed families during their evening performance of The Adventures of the Three Little Pigs. Their confidence, storytelling, and joyful energy on stage reminded us all of the power of play, creativity, and early literacy. Bravo to our Kinders and their amazing teachers! Special thanks to Mrs. Howell & special guest reader Mrs. Lindfors.
- Our Menchie's Fundraiser was a sweet success! Thank you to everyone who came out to support our school. Your participation helps fund valuable programs and experiences for our students.

Block Party Volunteers Needed
Block Party Volunteers
The PTA is hosting games at the Block Party and we can't run them without help from our Renton Park community. Each shift is only 30 minutes, which leaves plenty of time for families to enjoy the rest of the Block Party together. Follow the link below to sign up for a time. Thank you!

BOOK SWAP at Block Party
Renton Park Elementary is hosting its 3rd Annual Block Party at the end of the month and we are working to create a "Book Swap" table for students and families to "swap" for a different book or just take a book (or two). We want to provide an opportunity for students to choose engaging books to read over the summer.
We are looking for new or gently used PreK-5th grade level books. Books can be dropped off at Renton Park Elementary (16828 128th Ave SE, Renton, WA 98058) in the main office.
Feel free to send any questions to Kaci Aguilar at kaci.aguilar@rentonschools.us
Field Day
Renton Park Field Day will be Friday, June 20th! We need volunteers to set up, run stations, and clean up. If you want to volunteer, you need to have a current background check on file. Please click on the link to sign up for a specific time or the whole event!
Email Kaci Aguilar at kaci.aguilar@rentonschools.us with any questions.
Join the PTA Board - It's EASY!
The school year is nearly over and it's that time again. We need to plan for 2025-2026!
Renton Park PTA is in need of executive board members! Anyone interested in helping lead our awesome PTA is welcome to inquire for more information, and join us in person or via Zoom on 12-Jun (last meeting of the year!).
This year our PTA sponsored a ton of awesome projects including our Fun Run, 5th grade camp hoodies, the movie nights, family Bingo night, the scholastic book fair, snacks for testing, equipment for the school, class field trips, teacher appreciation week, and more!
The positions we need to fill to keep our PTA healthy are:
- Secretary: The Secretary is crucial for keeping the PTA organized and communicating effectively. Responsibilities include taking clear minutes during meetings, managing official correspondence, and maintaining important records like membership lists. This role is perfect for someone detail-oriented who wants to ensure smooth operations and preserve the group’s history.
- Treasurer: The Treasurer manages the PTAs finances, ensuring funds are handled responsibly and transparently. Key duties involve developing the budget, tracking income and expenses, making deposits, issuing payments, and presenting regular financial reports. This vital role ensures the PTA can fund its valuable programs and activities throughout the year.
- President: The President presides over meetings. They help with specific projects or committees, providing essential support to the PTA's overall goals, engaged with parents, teachers, and the community.
We must fill our three board members to keep the PTA active. We will not be able to carry over two of our amazing board members and we thank them for their time and support!
Email Josh at jrsieck@gmail.com for more information.
Green Bin Challenge Update
Thanks to everyone for your support with the Green Bin Earth Month Challenge. While we didn't win any money for the school, we made a huge impact over the years (see certificated below).

The program serves children that:
· turn 4 years-old on or before August 31, 2025
· live within Renton School District boundaries and
· have had no access to quality early learning experiences.
Students qualify through a screening process. Eligibility is based on financial, academic, and/or social or emotional needs. Ready K focuses on essential academics, social emotional skills, and learning habits to support children’s kindergarten success.
Learn more about program for the coming school year at our Ready K webpage: http://www.rentonschools.us/.../preschool-and.../ready-k
LET'S TALK!
Did you know spending just 5 minutes a day listening and talking to your children can have remarkable results? Having short, meaningful talks can build family bonds, give children a strong sense of support and self confidence, and strengthen their communication skills.
Question to discuss as a family this week: How do you like to celebrate when you are able to accomplish something hard?
SAVE THE DATE: Grade Level Concerts
Get your cameras ready! We're excited to announce that in-person grade-level evening concerts are happening again this year. All concerts will be held in the Renton Park café with a 6:00 start time. Below is the schedule for this year:

Daily Bell Schedule: Monday - Thursday
Daily Bell Schedule: Friday
School Breakfast/Lunch Meals FREE
Thanks to a state and federal funding, Renton School District will again provide breakfast and lunch meals free to most students this school year. All students can eat school breakfast and lunches free except at Risdon Middle School, Hazen High and the H.O.M.E. program. Unfortunately, the federal Community Eligibility Provision formula left us unable to include these schools.
Important note: While not required for free school meals, families are strongly encouraged to complete this Child Nutrition and Education Benefit form to help students and families receive important resources like: before and after school academic and enrichment programs; resources for classrooms; guidance and college counselors; health and wellness services; state summer grocery debit cards (SunBucks), and more. Submit your completed form to RSD.mealform@rentonschools.us or drop off at your school.
MAY Lunch Menu
REMINDER: Please complete the Meal Application! It is available at https://www.rentonschools.us/ departments/nutrition-services-warehouse/meal-applications. All students at our elementary schools receive one free breakfast and lunch each day. However we ask for you to complete a meal application in order to ensure your child's school qualifies for federal and state funding that is determined by parent income levels. You may also be eligible for other benefits such as reduced fees for programs and activities.
