WMS Morning Drop-Off Safety Reminders & Clarification
Hello, Warrior Families,
With the winter weather now in full force, I just wanted to take the time add a message with some safety reminders for our students and parents in the morning drop-off line. If you’re dropping your student(s) off at school in the morning, you need to drop them off at the sidewalk, not on the road between Covington and Woodside or in the parking lot. This is for your own students’ safety. It is now darker in the mornings, and this is even more important. The combination of darkness and inclement weather makes it difficult to see your student crossing through the parking lot or cutting across the drop-off line. With our emphasis on safety and supervision of the students who are inside of the building in the morning, we are relying on parents to act safely and responsibly in the drop-off line and while exiting the campus. Also, you should know that we monitor the traffic daily, take into consideration the buses not running which may add cars to the line-up, as well as the weather; and we make a decision each morning whether it is appropriate to “clear” tardies to Warrior Time.
Thank you for your cooperation and support!

Catching Up with the Counselors
🎉 Welcome to Counselor's Corner! 🎉
Hello, Woodside families! As we dive into the festive spirit of the season, we’re excited to share the latest happenings in our counseling program.
Needs Assessment
Our 6th graders completed the needs assessment this week! This important step helps us understand their needs and tailor our program to support students accordingly. 8th grade will take it this week during their warrior time class.
8th Grade Scheduling
Looking ahead, 8th graders will be busy with high school scheduling during their science classes this week! This is an exciting time as they prepare for the next chapter in their educational journey. We encourage you to review the course options with your students: https://s3.amazonaws.com/scschoolfiles/3325/2024-2025_cdg_122023.pdf 📚
Groups
Our current group counseling sessions are entering their final two weeks. We’re so proud of the progress these students have made! New groups will be starting next semester; topics include: Time Management, Anxiety, Divorce, and Friendship. These groups are designed to provide support and skills for navigating life’s challenges. Please reach out to your student's counselor if you feel your student could benefit from this opportunity!
Things to Remember
As we approach the holiday season, it’s a great time to remind students to take care of their mental health. Encourage them to reach out if they need support, and to practice self-care during this busy time. We wish you all a joyful holiday season filled with love and laughter. 🌟
