Spring Student-led Conferences
Time is quickly approaching for our Spring Conferences. As in previous years, we will be following our Student-Led Conference format. Student-Led Conferences, which were developed by our Leader in Me Program, are an exciting way for your child to show how he/she has grown as a learner and a leader. Students will present you with examples of their growth in reading, writing, math, and other areas of their choice. We invite you to participate in a conversation that encourages your child to explain his/her learning, celebrations, and challenges they have experienced so far. Please note that this is not a one-on-one conference with your child's teacher, but he/she will certainly be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
Conferences will be held on:
Thursday, March 21st from 1:00-7:00 p.m
Friday, March 22nd from 1:00-3:30 p.m
Please be on the lookout for a Spring Student-Led conference sign-up from your child(ren)'s teacher.
We look forward to this wonderful opportunity for your child to be a leader!
Winter NWEA Assessment Posted
The results of your child's Winter NWEA Assessment will be posted to your Parent Connection account on Monday, March 4th. Parent Connection is the same place where you log in to view report cards, lunch balances, and attendance for your child.
To access your child’s Winter NWEA Assessment, log into your Parent Connection account, scroll down to the section above the report cards, called "Documents”, and select the NWEA Parent Report link for Winter 2024.
The NWEA Parent Report is the same report that you have received in the past in hard copy or via email. We are posting them in Parent Connection now to make them easier to access and to allow you to go back and view them at any time, similar to the report card.
If you have any questions regarding your student's NWEA report, please contact your child's teacher. To learn more about the MAP Growth test, please visit https://www.nwea.org/the-map-suite/family-toolkit/ or contact your child’s school for more information.
Incoming 6th Grade Instrument Fit Night
For All Northville 5th Grade Students on, Monday, March 4, 2024 7:00 P.M. in the Hillside Cafeteria Please join us for our Instrument Fit Night. Students will have the opportunity to try the different band instruments that are started in sixth grade at both Hillside and Meads Mill. Students tend to have a higher success rate in band if we are able to help match them to an instrument that best fits their interest along with some of their physical attributes.
Students may start the following band instruments in 6th grade:
Flute
Clarinet
Trumpet/Cornet
Trombone
Baritone/Euphonium
Percussion (2 years of piano lessons highly recommended)
We look forward to helping your students find the best instrument for them!
Sincerely,
Robin Taylor
