Year 7:
All students have worked on drawing apples in a variety of media this term and have them mounted their work onto black card learning and understanding what makes good presentation in Art. The following students work has been displayed on a board at the top of A Block as excellent examples - Lois S, Rose, Phoebe D and Sophia K.
Year 8:
All students in Year 8 have worked on an Alice in Wonderland art project , we have looked at the work of Sir John Tenniel , who drew the original illustrations for the Books by Lewis Carroll. We looked at composition in this project learning what makes a good final picture , the students worked on different pieces and then made a final piece with all the elements . Work on display at the top of A Block if by Olivia , Ruby , Roberta and Julia .
Year 9:
This term students have been drawing shells from primary sources, we scaled up the drawing and then worked with charcoal and chalk pastel . The shells have been slightly abstracted so that students could experiment with line and mark making , the outcomes have been excellent but three of the best final pieces have been framed and put at the school reception, These are by Wiktoria , Pamela and Gabriella from Miss Jakubiak’ s groups .
Mrs Clark has been thrilled with the work by all of key stage 3 this year, the enthusiasm and eagerness to improve their drawings.
Year 10 Photography:
The students in this group have all worked extremely hard on their coursework , they have recently visited the Bone Crypt at the church in Rothwell to take photographs for their new project “ Weird and Wonderful”. The church warden said that the students were polite , courteous and really interested in the history of the Crypt.
