The Connection
The Connection - May 2024
Hello Everyone!
This month has been an absolute blur of great things! Robin Kinn and Sue Clauss were presented with prestigious awards by WEAC leadership at the RA. Our Region would not function without them and it was really great to see them honored at the state level. Erin Karsten, our Organizing Director, was featured in her first art show and my first comedy album debuted at number one on iTunes and Amazon! It might be the first time I've ever been excited about Apple and Amazon as companies lol.
Another exciting thing that happened this month was being able to attend Labor Notes with some amazing Region 3 leaders. Labor Notes is more than a union conference, it's an important space to shake off cynicism and think about the bigger picture of the labor movement. The Region 3 scholarship makes our members’ attendance in this amazing event possible. I am so thrilled that we have made a budgetary commitment to our members for this experience. This year Bailey McAllister of Appleton EA and Cheri McAllister of Chilton EA attended together. It was great to attend Labor Notes with this mother daughter duo and I look forward to 2026! If you're interested in learning more feel free to email me.
Lastly, it's that time of year again when we start to think about summer plans. If you are interested in recruiting more members to your union and getting paid to do so while working with and learning from some seasoned pros you should think about applying to the Region 3 Summer Organizing Program.
