Happy Memorial Day Weekend
I wish everyone a very happy Memorial Day Weekend! I hope your weekend is filled with relaxation, rest, and recovery. Please try to find some time this weekend to recharge and enjoy those people who are important in your life.
As we approach the last few weeks of the school year, the exterior construction of our building is coming along nicely. We eagerly await the construction of the interior of the building as soon as school ends for the academic year.
A-3 Alliance Club
A3 Alliance club will be ending on May 30th.

YMCA
Leaders in Training
Leaders in Training is a great program for teens to develop leadership skills, learn how to work with children of all ages, and have fun at the same time. LITs receive weekly leadership lectures, practical skills training and performance evaluations.
LITs accompany Camp Cannundus on weekly trips and gain opportunities to become future Summer Camp Counselors.

Dress Code
Middle school is a trying time for our students, and many struggle with navigating adolescent development. Many of those challenges include fitting in by wearing current, fashionable clothing and garments. While the administration at the middle school understands that clothing is an integral part of self-expression, we ask that all of our students wear clothing suitable for school. As the weather gets warmer, please keep this in mind as your child dresses for school. We want to ensure that our school is an appropriate place for learning. Links to our student handbook regarding dress code can be found here (on page 12).

PTO Message
Dear 8th Grade Parents- Exciting News! We're gearing up for the 8th Grade Carnival and we need your help to make it a great event. Do you have any lawn games, like cornhole, bocce, ladder ball or a giant Connect 4? If so, we'd love to borrow them for the day to add to the fun. We promise to take good care of them and return them to you right after the carnival. If you are able to help out, please let us know. You can email us at lcjsmsptoinfo@gmail.com.
Thank you for your support! Additionally we are looking for Parent volunteers to help at both the Pool Party and the Carnival. Please check the links below to assist.

8th Grade Pool Party
Students who have completed the requisite hours of community service are invited to our pool party, to be held on Thursday, June 6th (rain date: June 7th). Attached please find the permission slip REQUIRED to attend the pool party. We will not be using Genesis for this permission slip. All permission slips must be turned in to your student's homeroom teacher by Friday, May 31st. We must have the physical copy of the slip in order for a student to attend. Additionally, hard copies will be given out to students in homeroom on Tuesday, May 28th.
8th Grade Graduation
*Note regarding a potential indoor graduation ceremony - In the event of inclement weather, the graduation ceremony would be moved to the Summit High School auditorium. In that case, students would receive two tickets each for auditorium guests. Due to the size of the SHS auditorium, we would not be able to accommodate guests beyond that.
