As you will be aware, we have finally had our Ofsted Inspection this week and were very pleased to receive a full graded Inspection. The final report will be published no later than 35 days following the Inspection. I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to my staff and pupils who were all exceptional in their roles. In addition to this, I would like to express my thanks and gratitude to all parents and carers for your unwavering support of the school which came through in abundance in your feedback. Thank you once again. We look forward to being able to share the report with you once it’s available.
This Week
World Book Day
Yesterday, was World Book Day. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed being able to dress up as their favourite characters and the costumes were amazing!
The Junior Leadership Team picked out 10 pupils initially for the ‘Best Dressed Reward’ and then came to an agreement on the following:
First Prize – E. Riley
Second Prize – O. Taylor
Third Prize – O.Atkinson
Book In A Box Competition
We also asked pupils and parents to spend time creating a ‘Book in a box’ and as ever, we have been blown away with the high quality and creativeness of these. Over the past few days, staff have spent time with the children just looking at the boxes in awe. The effort that has gone into them is exceptional and the pupils are quite rightly, very proud of their family achievements.
All pupils who entered have received a small reward. The top three pupils, again chosen by the JLT, are as follows:
First Prize – A. Bray
Second Prize – L & S Jones
Third Prize – O. Parry
Please take enjoyment from seeing pictures of some of the boxes below:
Hands Across Wakefield
This afternoon, the whole school stood on the school playground and held hands in support of the MY Hospitals Charity celebrating the 125th anniversary of the first patient being admitted to a hospital on the Pinderfields site in Wakefield. The pupils were very excited and looked fabulous in their bright colours. Thank you for your kind donations which will be sent directly to the Charity. Those who donated £5 will receive their badges in due course.
International Women's Day
In recognition of this extremely important day, all classes have been learning about Women who are currently making a huge impact on others or who have left a real legacy and made a significant difference around the world.
Here are some photos of the Women classes have chosen.
