Last week was full of celebration, starting with our epic Girls' Basketball game on Monday, with the final score of 24:25 JLA! We also celebrated Black excellence at the Black History Month assembly by honoring leaders in the JLA community. The celebration featured our own Ms. Pam Marshall, a three-time US champion and JLA staff member who competed in the 1988 Olympics and continues to inspire us daily. We also hosted a DJ Dance Party at Lunch for students who earned Perfect Attendance in quarters 1 or 2.

This week, we will continue celebrating student achievement with our 6th-grade Honor Roll assembly after school on Tuesday in the auditorium for 6th-grade students. Our 7th and 8th grade celebrations will be next week.

For 8th-grade families, the High School Choice Application window is now open in ParentVue. Please complete the application for your 8th-grade student by February 21, 2025. All 8th-grade students must complete an application. This Friday, we will host two parent support sessions to complete the application in the JLA Library from 8:00 to 8:45 am or 3:00 to 3:45 pm.

Parents, you have received an email from LBUSD to complete the CORE survey. Your feedback is invaluable as it will help us understand your experiences and opinions about Jefferson Leadership Academy. The information gathered by this survey will directly contribute to the continuous improvement plan for JLA. Please complete the survey by February 28. This brief survey should take only a few minutes to complete.
