Sanborn Spotlight

April 27, 2025
Dear Sanborn Families,
Over the past two weeks, our students worked hard to complete their state testing, including both the IAR and ISA assessments. We are proud of their efforts and focus throughout the process!
As we move into May, we will be wrapping up our final safety drills for the year. This will include a lockdown drill with the Palatine Police Department, as well as a fire drill. Please note that while the drills will take place during the month of May, they will not be announced ahead of time to students, as part of our standard safety procedures.
A reminder that there is No School on Friday, May 2, due to an Institute Day.
We also want to share a fun highlight from the past week — our 2nd graders had the opportunity to visit the Village of Palatine and meet our mayor! To make sure he felt like part of our Sanborn community, we presented him with his very own Sanborn t-shirt. It was a wonderful experience for our students and a great way to show our Sanborn pride!
The week of May 5 is Teacher Appreciation Week! We encourage families to send a note of thanks or have your child make a special card for their teacher or support staff member. A few kind words go a long way in making our teachers and staff feel loved and celebrated!
We also have some exciting events coming up the same week, including Donuts with Grownups and our Spring Book Fair. (See below for more information!)
As the weather continues to warm up, we hope your family finds time to get outside together — maybe take a walk, visit a park, or even enjoy a drive with the windows down. It’s a beautiful season to slow down and make some special memories.
Warmly,
Angela Gallegos

Walk-A-Thon Success!
Sanborn has raised an incredible $17,398 for our Walkathon! Thanks to your generosity, these funds will help support student events for the rest of this school year and into next year. We are truly blown away by the outpouring of support from our families and community. Your spirit and kindness are a huge part of what makes Sanborn such a special place. We are so proud to be part of this incredible Sanborn family!
The Sanborn Walkathon has been rescheduled to Friday, May 9th. To keep the excitement going, we’ll be celebrating with a Spirit Week leading up to the big day. Check out the fun plans for each day below!
Registration for the 25-26 School Year!
Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is open now. Families are asked to start preparing their documents as soon as possible so that registrations can be finalized quickly. Learn more about the registration process on our website. As a reminder, District 15 will be transitioning from Infinite Campus to PowerSchool in 2025-26.
