The J-List
May 24, 2024
Hello JES Family,
I can't believe we are at the end of another school year, and what an amazing year it was! We finished with a great week with Kinder & 4th grade Graduations, Senior Walk, Popsicle Parties, Retirement Reception, and our 4th grad Clap-Out. We are sad to see our 4th graders move on, but excited for what they have in front of them.
I hope all of our students and families have a great summer, and I can't wait to hear about all of your adventures when we get back in August.
I am so grateful for the opportunity you have given me to serve this beautiful community. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns, questions, or joys to share with me!
See you in August and GO DRAGONS!
Patrick Holladay, Principal
Johnson Elementary School
We have some talented and generous parents in our midst, and we need to give a special THANK YOU to Stephany Burns for the thousands of photos she has taken for our school over the years.
She generously shared an album of Graduation and Field Day photos for our families to enjoy. Thank you, Mrs. Burns!

STAAR Results Release

Attendance Update
Attendance by the Numbers...
- Total Attendance for 2023-2024 school year was 95.75%, which was a slight increase from 95.66% in 2022-2023.
- JES had a total of 4,799 absences during the 2023-2024 school year which cost CISD approximately $240,000 in withheld funding.
- Our goal for 2024-2025 school year will be 97.00%. If we were at 97% this year, we would have saved the district $70,000. With your help, we can reach 97% next year!

PTO Updates
Our AMAZING volunteers of the month!!
Tyler Oglesby & Tyler Tate went above and beyond with DAD'S club this year! From the BEST tailgate ever, five breakfasts, car line duty, building and installing graduation signs, leading stations & DJ'ing field day, and the addition of pancakes for the STARR test. They did all of this with a spirit of community, connection and of course, fun! You are TRULY appreciated!!
April Cate helped coordinate and execute ALL that went into recognizing and spoiling our well deserved teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week! Thank you April and her partners Whitney Mitchell Capps & Amanda Nied for pulling this all off! (Whitney & Amanda were already Volunteers of the Month). In addition, April also did the amazing 4th grade photo wall and coordinated the 4th grade wonder movie watch party. We are so THANKFUL for ALL that you do.
