The Committee will review the 2025-26 Calendar and develop the 2026-27 and 2027-28 School Calendars using the Department of Education guidelines. The meeting will be Tuesday, October 1st, 2pm at the District Office.

Statewide Assessment Results
State, district, school, and subgroup results for Alaska’s statewide assessments are now viewable on Assessment Results webpage. The attached press release has been shared by DEED and the attached Statewide Assessment Brief outlines the results.

Field Trips
If you are interested in joining your student on any field trips this year, you must complete volunteer paperwork here: https://kpbsd.org/departments/assistant-superintendent/instructional-services/hr/volunteer/. The process can take up to 2 weeks so please plan ahead.
Help Wanted!!
We are in need of a custodian again this year. The position is 4 hours per day, 5 days per week. There is also an opportunity to be a substitute custodian. In that position, you can work up to 5 days per week or as few as 1. Emergency Drills
We will be conducting a fire drill, A.L.I.C.E. drill, and earthquake drill sometime during the first 10 days of school.
Substitutes
Cooper Landing School is in need of substitutes for all positions: teacher, instructional aide, special education aide, secretary, and custodian. A teaching certificate is not required.

Hope School Happenings
Hope Happenings: WOW! Special thanks to KMTA for the amazing trip to Spencer Glacier. We would like to also thank the special people in our community and our staff for their hard work in planning and bringing this trip together. The train ride added something special to the trip. Everyone enjoyed an experience which was unique. Each person who has commented was appreciative to have a unique memory in learning with their student that would last a lifetime.
Hope School has various employment opportunities at the Hope School. Please consider being a substitute at our school. JOIN OUR TEAM! Teachers, secretary, and custodial substitutes positions are open. KPBSD Substitute Link
Hope School PTO is need of a secretary. If you would like to actively participate, this is a great opportunity to join the PTO and stay involved. Upcoming meetings will be announced soon.
