30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Jesus heals a blind man in today’s Gospel, demonstrating his power as the Son of God. To show mercy means to be gentle and forgiving to someone who has done something wrong. It also means showing kindness to those who are suffering or victims of misfortune.

Halloween

We will be celebrating in our classrooms and a school wide parade on October 31 at 10:00 am in the gym. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend. Students are invited to wear their costumes to school on Halloween. Please remember not to send in any weapons or any overly scary costumes that may frighten our little ones.

Following our nutrition guidelines, exchanging of food or other items will not be part of our celebrations unless organized by the classroom teacher. Stay tuned for a Halloween candy exchange next week.

3 Way Conferences

On Tuesday, November 5th and Thursday, November 7th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, teachers will be hosting 3-Way Conferences. This is an opportunity for the student, parents and teacher to engage in conversations around the strengths, areas of growth and next steps of the student.

We will have both in person and virtual opportunities in hopes this will provide more flexibility

for families. The last hour on Thursday will be virtual. The website to book the conferences will

go live on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 10:00 am.

Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Information:

Ms. Stankey - additional conferences on Friday, November 8th 1:00 pm - 3:00pm.

Please Note: Due to conferences Mrs. Greschner and Ms. Stankey’s students will NOT have

classes on Friday, November 8th.

Evidence of Learning Portfolios

To prepare for your child's conference please spend time with them exploring their Evidence of Learning portfolio which they will bring home this week. Students will be proud to share with you all they have learned so far this year. Take time to reflect back, look ahead and discuss goals.

School Assurance Highlights

We have a lot to celebrate over the first two months of the school year! From celebrating Catholic Education to Read in Week, field trips, moving our bodies, and many special visitors in our school. We are blessed and celebrate the learning and growth of our students.

2023/2024 Yearbooks

The 2023/2024 yearbooks have arrived and we handed out to students who ordered them on Thursday.

Books will be sent to St. Theresa, OLPH, Madonna and Ardrossan for those students who are no longer at Holy Spirit.

We do have extra copies of the 2023/2024 yearbook. If you wish to purchase a copy for $25. Please contact the office at 780-416-9526.

School Fees

The 2024-2025 school year fees have been applied to your PowerSchool account. Detailed letters were sent home on Thursday. School Fees are due 30 days after they are posted. If you have any questions please contact the office.

Fee Waiver

If the back to school costs are feeling too much you may be eligible for our fee waiver. Please read more and if applicable complete the 2024-2025 Fee Waiver Application.
