Happy Memorial Day!

Dear Atholton families,

Congratulations to the Class of 2023!! Last Thursday was Atholton’s Commencement Ceremony. It was a fantastic morning filled with joy and celebration. A job well done, Class of 2023. BRAVO! It is through this newsletter that we bid farewell to our seniors and their families. Your last newsletter! I wish you all the best!

We have arrived at the penultimate newsletter for the 2022-2023 school year! Where has the year gone?? Final exams begin THIS FRIDAY, June 9 (Period 1)!

The final three days of school are early dismissal days. However, we begin final exams on a full day of school THIS FRIDAY! The schedule for June 12-14 is below. Those students who are enrolled at ARL will remain in school during this time.

There are still another two weeks of school for the rest of us! There are a few items regarding the close of the year that parents need to know. First, all students will keep their Chromebooks UNLESS they are withdrawing from HCPSS or have graduated.

As we close out this year, we are gearing up for the 2023 - 2024 school year. On Thursday, June 8, beginning at 9 am, students and families will have access to the list of courses students are registered for next year. If you have any questions regarding what your child is registered for, please contact your child’s counselor.

I am excited about the welcoming event this Tuesday, June 6 -- Middle School Visitation Day. Our five middle school feeders will visit Raider Nation and learn about what high school has to offer. There will be a formal student orientation in August. It is always such an exciting visit as the 8th graders get excited about coming to high school!

This week, HCPSS is sponsoring a parent information session on Substance Abuse. HCPSS will host two virtual parent/guardian information sessions on youth mental wellness and substance use this June 8: 5:30-6:30 p.m. for upper elementary and middle school parents/guardians and 7:30-8:30 p.m. for high school parents/guardians.

We still continue to have very low participation in our school improvement survey. Please be sure to take a few minutes of your time to complete our school survey. As part of our school improvement process, we ask families to provide input about their equity priorities at our school. Please use the link below to complete the HCPSS Indicators of Educational Equity Survey by April 14, 2023. We will use your input and other school data to refine our school improvement plan for next year.

This survey is anonymous and available in multiple languages. If you have children at more than one school, please complete one survey per school.
