SWS Newsletter
May 3, 2024
Dear SWS Community,
We will not be sending a newsletter next week due to our state testing schedule. In honor of next weekend...Mother’s Day is celebrated differently from family to family but the spirit of the day remains the same. We honor that person we call “mom” for being that special person in our lives that sticks with us through thick and thin. My best wishes to all for a Happy Mother’s Day.
NJSLA (State Standardized Testing)
Next week marks the NJSLA testing for Grades 3 through 6. As you know, a well-rested child, supported by good nutrition, and arriving punctually at school, stands a better chance of success on tests. Your focused efforts in these aspects can significantly contribute to your child's performance! Be sure your child comes to school with their wired headphones and a good morning snack.
Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week
From Monday, May 13th to Friday, May 17th, we're honoring teachers and staff with Appreciation Week. I am genuinely proud and inspired by the passion and dedication exhibited by our teachers and staff members. I eagerly anticipate celebrating their remarkable contributions! If you'd like, encourage your child to take a moment to craft a heartfelt message or create a thoughtful drawing to recognize their teacher or a cherished staff member - be sure to deliver it during the week of May 13th.
Student Dress Code
It is starting to become that time of the year when the warm breezes are blowing and we can soon begin to wear summer clothing. Please take a moment to review our school dress code policies which is available on the website. You may also click this link to view the policy. With students likely to enjoy most recess periods outdoors, we kindly request that you avoid sending your child to school in flip flops or open-toed shoes, as they pose potential safety risks.
If you have any questions please contact the Main Office.
