Your TLA e-Bulletin for June 2018
Welcome to the latest TLA e-Bulletin
Sharing practice in all things about teaching learning and assessment
The TLA e-bulletin is dedicated to sharing ideas and resources and promoting discussion about all things related to teaching, learning and assessment. Hopefully, there's something for everyone.
In this edition, we will be sharing some tips and tricks gleaned from some of the great teaching demonstrated across the college.
In the coming weeks, we have planned a series of TLA Fayres at Clarendon, Basford, Adams and Maid Marian Way. We will be sharing resources and ideas on assessment for learning, maths and English, study skills and challenge.
The dates are:
Clarendon Thursday 7th July 12-1
Adams Wednesday 13th July 12-1
Basford Thursday 21st July 12-1
Maid Marian Way Wednesday 27th July 12-1
It's a great opportunity to talk about all things teaching and learning. We'd love it if you can share an activity or idea or just browse the resources.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Great ideas shared by Staff!

5. Use different colours of plastic balls to represent different groups in society and then use maths skills for fractions and percentages.
6. Use peer discussions about similar interests and familiar objects.
7. Use time out and rest breaks effectively.
8. Using computers in lessons to practice writing and consolidate the reading done earlier in the lesson. (Harry Monoghan)
9. Use the coloured balls in speaking and listening to encourage professionalism, customer service, smiling and conversation. (Harry Monoghan)
10. Use spelling bingo within lessons to support English language development. (Jo Ritchie)
