Greetings Families of K-5th Graders!

We are pleased to announce that Frontier Charter School will be participating in the State of Alaska's Healthy Futures Challenge this year. The contest will run for three months: February, March, and April. Let's get moving!!

How does your child participate in Healthy Futures? Your student(s) records physical activity on the Healthy Futures Activity Log. Qualifying logs must show at least 60 minutes of physical

activity during a day for at least 15 days of the month. The daily time can be broken up into smaller segments. An Activity Log is attached. Parents, you will need to email your student's completed logs to their advisor and our Healthy Futures Coordinator, Teresa Kress (Kress_Teresa@asdk12.org) no later than the 25th of every month.

Incentives. In exchange for turning in a completed log each month, K-5 students will receive a small prize, and all students will be entered for a gift card drawing in May for each month completed. For family and student(s) ideas, visit www.playeveryday.alaska.gov or http://healthyfuturesak.org .

Do you have a high-flying junior or senior who is interested in participating in ASD's gifted mentorship program? The window for students to apply has just opened and this is a highly competitive opportunity! Only 50 students are chosen from the entire Anchorage School District. Interested? Please read attached flyer and contact the ASD lead for this program, Shannon Donley (Donley_Shannon@asdk12.org), right away!

March 7th is our spending deadline for the year. Any requisitions or reimbursements need to submitted in SALTT by this date. If you know of any expenses coming up, please get your order or reimbursement in as soon as possible.
