Annual College and Career Event

The School Counseling Department is pleased to announce the annual Career and College Fair on Wednesday, October 12th from 3-5pm. Last year we had approximately 75 colleges, unions, military and employers in attendance to help with post-secondary planning. This year we will be adding additional participants including MassHire, Mass Rehab, and The Nan Project! School Counselors will also hold a post secondary planning presentation from 3-3:30 in the Lecture Hall. Grades 9-12 are welcome and we would love to see you there!

Back to School Night

"Back to School Night" is scheduled for Thursday, October 6th from 6pm to 8pm. Beginning at 6pm parents will follow our 1-11 period schedule. Each period will be 10 minutes in length with 3 minutes of passing time in between.

PSAT REMINDER

Reminder to all junior students who are registered for the PSAT. We will be testing in the main gym on Wednesday October 12. Passes for the test will be sent to your student email.

Spanish Course Opportunity

If you are interested in taking an online Spanish course here at Greater Lowell Technical High School, there will be a mandatory virtual meeting on Friday, October 14 at 3 pm and a makeup meeting date Tuesday, October 18 at 3:30 pm. Please see your school counselor to sign up for the course. If you have any questions, please see either Ms. Palladino in room 2282 or Mr. Colunga in room 3255

Senior Meetings

Counselors will be meeting with seniors soon to check in about plans after graduation! Email your counselor now for an appointment

Homework and Tutoring Center

The Homework and Tutoring Center will open on Monday, October 3. The program runs Monday through Thursday from student dismissal until 3:00. Students can take the 3:00 buses home. Students do not need to sign up. They can just attend whenever they need extra assistance.

Available Resources

The following resources are available to all students. Please contact your school counselor to make an appointment for counseling support, or for assistance with any of these resources.

Catie's Closet- for clothing, health and beauty aids
Gryphon Food Pantry- for fresh and non-perishable food items
School Counselors and Adjustment Counselors- for social/emotional support
Homework Assistance and Tutoring- We offer after-school tutoring and assistance programs Monday through Thursday starting at student dismissal ending when students can take late buses home at 3:00. Students do not need to sign up – they can go and sign into the center when they need assistance. Please note it may be recommended or required (in collaboration with parents) as a support for students who are struggling academically.
