π£ A Message from Mrs. Amendola
And just like that it's June! The end of the school year is filled with excitement and there is so much to celebrate. As a school community many goals and accomplishments have been achieved this year. We are proud of how hard the students worked, and are thankful for the support from home and the school community. Our slogan was shared with students at the start of the school year, "Try your best, nothing less at MTES!" And our students have really embodied that message. We have so many accomplishments to celebrate and work to be very proud of.
This past month we held our last Be Your Best Pep Rally. Students and staff participated in fun games, and were able to come together to celebrate the blue TEAM tickets they have been earning. We will have one more TEAM ticket drawing for June, and then we will pick 1 lucky student and teacher for the BIG end of year prize. We are amazed by the amount of students earning team tickets; the students are following our school expectations and are realizing that they are part of a larger team, our ES school community. Through our Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) program we have established expectations of our school community, practiced mindfulness strategies, encouraged team work, recognized individual student and staff accomplishments, and even danced a little during morning announcements to songs with a positive message. I am beyond proud of the work we were able to accomplish this year, and I am looking forward to our continued work next year.
Our talented 4th & 5th grade students put on a wonderful Spring Music concert in May. Led by Ms. Dutcher and Mrs. Kinzel, the band and chorus students performed wonderfully and shared their talents with us all. To continue to celebrate the accomplishments of our students, our 3rd & 4th grade classes are holding Writing Celebrations throughout the month of June to share their published pieces with their families and peers. We will also be honoring our 5th grade students as they celebrate their accomplishments and journey through the Elementary School. The PTO is planning an exciting 5th Grade Bash for the students with many fun activities. They are also sponsoring a 5th grade breakfast and yearbook signing celebration on June 17th in the ES cafeteria. On the last day of school the 5th grade students will be invited to take one final bow as they parade throughout the school as part of our annual Walk of Champions special tribute. Information has been sent to 5th grade parents.
We encourage the children to read and pursue their passions this summer. Summer Reading and Math information will be forthcoming and posted to the district website. Information regarding class assignments will be communicated with you in August. As a reminder report cards will be available through Genesis on June 20th.
A special thanks to the Millstone PTO and MTFEE. Their dedication, hard work and generosity has allowed us to provide fun events, prizes and activities to the students and families of the Elementary School. Finally, a special thank you to the staff of the Elementary School. The countless hours that they have dedicated to the success of the students and the school this year is unmeasurable. We are definitely lucky and proud to be Millstone. I wish you a relaxing, safe and wonderful summer. We are looking forward to accomplishing great things together next school year!

2. Morning Drop-off π
Doors open for student drop-off at 8:55 am each morning. Parents are asked to pull to the middle doors where students will exit curbside and be assisted into the building by our duty staff. We ask all families to remain in their vehicles so that we may keep traffic flowing. Additionally, we ask that families pull all the way forward as directed by staff.
Students should not be dropped off unless duty personnel is present. Doors close at 9:05 am. If you are running late, kindly park and escort your child to the main entrance where he or she will be buzzed into the building.
3. Afternoon Dismissal π
Afternoon dismissal for parent pick-up begins at 3:27 pm. Students will be dismissed from the middle doors of the building. Families will be asked to gather outside of the middle doors to pick up their children. Families will park in our lower lot and use the adjacent staircase to make their way to the middle doors. Once our parent pick-up list has been verified inside by a staff member, students will be escorted outside and matched with their adult(s).
If you plan on using parent pick-up each day, you may send an email to Mrs. Piccinnini in the main office stating such. Your child will be added to our permanent parent pick-up list. If you plan on using parent pick-up occasionally, we ask that you email the main office no later than 3pm on the day you wish to use parent pick-up. It is important that you notify your child's teacher and the main office anytime there is a change in your child's typical dismissal plan.
