Viking Spotlight: MVA's Girls Basketball Team 🏀
This week's Viking Spotlight goes to the members of our girls basketball team! I admire the dedication and commitment that these girls have shown all season long, despite only having a small number of players and being new to the sport. These ladies demonstrated the Viking Code elements of being gutsy, never giving up and being synergetic! These efforts paid off last Saturday when they earned their first victory of the season in a very close game ending with a game-winning free throw by Maliyah Smith! Congratulations ladies!! We are so proud of you!!

💛 Message from the Principal 💛
It's an exciting week this week as we kick off our Halloween Spirit Week and a rally! We hope that all students and staff participate to get into the spirit and earn points on 5-star.
This week is also Red Ribbon Week! Since its beginning in 1985, the Red Ribbon has touched the lives of millions of people around the world. In response to the murder of DEA Agent Enrique Camarena, angered parents and youth in communities across the country began wearing Red Ribbons as a symbol of their commitment to raise awareness of the killing and destruction cause by drugs in America. Today, the Red Ribbon serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities. Be sure to participate in at least two activities this week to earn the opportunity to Trick-or-Treat next Thursday on Halloween! More details will be provided in the Advisory slides.
Just a friendly reminder that we are only a short two weeks away from our next progress report. Have you been putting in the work to get your grades up? Remember to take advantage of our FREE before and after school tutoring, as well as Saturday Academy to help support your academic goals. Check out the schedules below for more info. Remember, most teachers close grades this week, so don't wait until the last minute! Speak to your teachers and find out their final deadlines! You got this, Vikings!
Congratulations to Mr. Garcia's Advisory class for winning Music Monday last week! 🎶 Will your advisory be the winner this week?!? 😉
Let's make it a great week, Vikings!! 💛
