BAKER'S CORNER
Dear Fire Prairie Families,
Week Two of MAP Testing: Complete! We’ve officially wrapped up the ELA AND Math portions of MAP testing, and we couldn’t be prouder of our students! Attendance has been outstanding, and our Timberwolves have been giving their best effort each day. Their focus, determination, and positive attitudes have truly stood out. 🐾 Next week, we’ll dive into the GRADE 5 SCIENCE portion of testing—keep up the great work!
As we look forward to the exciting field trips coming up for both 5th and 6th grade, we want to remind families of our transportation policy:
- If a student is suspended from the bus at the time of a scheduled field trip, they will not be allowed to attend the trip.
A bus suspension applies to all school transportation—regardless of the reason for travel. Field trips are no exception. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of all students and staff, which remains our top priority. Thank you for your understanding and partnership in this matter.
Be sure to mark these dates on your calendar! Make-up days are now scheduled due to snow days. They are as follows:
- Friday, May 23 (was the last day of school and an early release day) - now a full day of school
- Monday, May 26 - No School/Memorial Day Holiday
- Tuesday, May 27 - full day of school/MAP Incentive GLOW Party!
- Wednesday, May 28 - full day of school/Platinum Parties
- Thursday, May 29 - last day of school/early release at 11:55 AM/School-wide Celebration!
Please, if you have any questions about these days, reach out.
Thank you for being an engaged adult in your student's educational journey! We appreciate all you are doing to help your student be success ready for school and life!
Be well. ~ Be safe. ~ Be kind!
Respectfully,
Dr. B
Suzanne Baker, Ed.D., Principal

MAP Prep
Dear Fire Prairie Families,
All students at Fire Prairie in grades 5 and 6 will be taking the MAP test this year. Students in grade 5 take ELA, math, and science tests, while grade 6 students take both ELA and math. With the start of MAP testing approaching next week, we want to ensure that all students are fully prepared. Here's a checklist to help your child succeed:
Wired headphones (no Bluetooth)
A calculator (for grade 6)
Additionally, please remind your child of these key steps to set them up for success:
Charge their Chromebook each night to ensure it has at least an 80% charge when they bring it to school.
Eat a healthy dinner the night before each testing day.
Get a full night’s rest to help them perform at their best.
Important Reminders:
Students’ phones must be off and stored in their backpacks during the day.
Smartwatches should stay at home during testing days.
A free breakfast will be offered on the following days tht Fire Prairie is MAP testing:
- Tuesday, April 22 & Wednesday, April 23
- Tuesday, April 29 & Wednesday, April 30
- Monday, May 5 & Tuesday, May 6
If you need any assistance with the preparations or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to support you!
Thank you for your continued partnership in ensuring a positive testing experience for all our students.
