Community Care and Support Partnerships
In D303, we value the opportunity to provide a community of care and support to our families, especially those faced with financial hardship. If your family is currently experiencing a significant financial need, our community partnerships have several supports available for families, including school clothes/shoes, winter coats/accessories, school supplies, toiletries, holiday meals, and/or holiday gifts. If you would like to be considered for any of these supports, please complete the Family Resource Form by September 13, 2024.
TLC - Tiger Lunch Crew
The TLC (Tiger Lunch Crew) program is a school-based, family, and community engagement initiative designed to strengthen connections between parents, students, and staff. Inspired by similar successful programs like WATCH D.O.G.S.®, TLC is focused on fostering a supportive and positive school environment where parents can actively participate in their child's school experience.
Our program allows parents and guardians to volunteer during lunch and recess shifts to help supervise and build meaningful connections with students.
The TLC Tiger Lunch Crew is open to all parents, guardians, and caregivers. Volunteers play an essential role in creating a nurturing school community and supporting teachers and staff. Through this program, we hope to bring more volunteers onto campus, demonstrating the power of family engagement in boosting student success and well-being.
We wanted to introduce the program to you this week. In next week's e-news you will have an opportunity to sign-up for any lunch shift, any day school is in session. We will have two volunteer slots available per lunch. After you sign up, just come to the main office with an ID so we can check you into our system on the day(s) you volunteer.

Student Leadership Opportunities
Did you know that students who participate in clubs and extra curricular activities in school feel a bigger sense of belonging and connectedness? We currently offer a variety of musical clubs such as Orchestra, Band and Choir. We also currently have Precision Fitness Club and Chess Club which will soon be offered. We also have Student Council to give students opportunities to be leaders in our school. Info on those clubs will be coming in a few weeks. We also have some club opportunities that are offered during the day. One time per week on Fridays, students will meet at 8:50 a.m. (or when their bus drops them off) until 9:20 a.m. They will miss their Friday Classroom Morning Meeting while Friday clubs will take its place. Please see our CLUB DESCRIPTIONS for our club offerings. If you're interested in your child participating please complete the club application and turn in by Friday, September 6th. A child can only be in one Friday club as they run at the same time.
Upcoming Fire Drills and Shelter in Place (Tornado) Drill
Weather permitting, we will conduct two fire drills and a shelter in -place. We are scheduled for September 4th and 9th. The 9th will be with the St. Charles Fire Department.

Join us at the 2024 Kick-A-Thon!
KICK-A-THON is a local event that began over 30 years ago as an effort from the St. Charles High School Dance Team to raise money to help kick cancer. It has grown to include East and North High School Dance Teams and other amazing charities. This charity event will benefit the Fox Valley Food for Health, Colette A. Miles Foundation, and the high school dance teams. To date, we have raised over a million dollars and need your help to keep that number growing. Please join the St. Charles High School Dance Teams as we raise money to kick cancer.
This year’s event will take place on Friday, October 4th, 2024, at St. Charles North High School, prior to the start of the varsity football game between St. Charles North and St. Charles East. Local community members who help with fundraising will form a kick line alongside the dance team members and kick 100 times in an effort to raise money for these charities.
