Principal Message
Hello Laker Families,
As we move into conference season, we’re looking forward to connecting with each of you to discuss the progress and growth of your child. Conference sign-ups should have been sent to you via ParentSquare by your child’s teacher, so if you haven’t yet scheduled a time, please be sure to check your messages and secure a slot. These conferences are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your child’s accomplishments, discuss areas for growth, and collaborate to ensure the best possible learning experience.
A huge thank you also goes out to our PTA and to each of you for your incredible support during the APEX Fun Run! The excitement from students was contagious, and your generosity will allow PTA to fund so many impactful programs, resources, and experiences that positively impact our school community.
As always, our goal is to keep you informed and engaged in your Laker’s education. Whether it’s through upcoming conferences, classroom updates, or school events, we’re committed to sharing the learning journey with you every step of the way. Thank you for being such an essential part of our school community; we’re grateful for your support and couldn't be more grateful to be part of the Laker community!

Thank YOU Voters!
We’re absolutely thrilled that Proposition 1 has passed and we very much thank those who voted in support of the bond measure that will improve schools districtwide.
A supermajority of 60 percent was required to pass, and our voters made it happen with a current 63 percent approval (as of 11/6). This reflects the shared belief of our community to invest in our schools and kids.
The district is excited to now move forward in implementing the bond projects, including here at Emerald Hills.
With a brand new building (completed in 2020), there’s no need for major improvements. However, Emerald Hills will see energy efficiency improvements to optimize the performance of systems such as heating, cooling and ventilation.
When elementary students move up, they’ll receive the benefits of the other bond projects as they get to middle and high school.
Thank you for being a part of our Laker community as we build for success.
- The Food Drive will run from Nov 1-Nov 15
- This is a single item drive at EHE our item is canned sweet potatoes/yams
- We will have a competition between grade levels
- The PTA will host a hot chocolate party (in the MPR) for the winning grade!
Veterans Day Assembly
Our Veterans Day assembly was a memorable and moving event, thanks to the contributions of so many. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Wallitner, our music teacher, and her choir for their beautiful and powerful performance. Their music truly set the tone for an uplifting and respectful celebration of our veterans. We also want to recognize and thank our student leaders who posted the colors with such care and pride—it was a proud moment for all of us.
A very special thank you goes to the veterans who joined us in person, allowing us the honor of recognizing their service and sacrifice. Your presence meant so much to our school community, and we were humbled to celebrate you. And to all veterans everywhere, thank you for your courage, your commitment, and your sacrifices for our freedom. We are grateful beyond words.
