As we close out summer school and head toward the 4th of July holiday, Crossroads reflects on a summer school mini-mester that helped 5 graduates achieve their goals. After a quick work week the mini-mester began and teachers did not skip a beat in bringing the perpetual love and restorative educational care that are foundational parts of Crossroads Academy. Teachers Barbie Hoffman, Juliana Botello, George Anthony and Robert Valadez opened their classroom doors to new mentees from the Footsteps program, Uvalde High School, and continuing Crossroads students. In meetings, I often share with parents of prospective students that our teams strive to teach our students with the same love and care that we would want for our own children. As I made my rounds through classrooms, that is exactly what I saw, four classrooms and an ACE team that I would love my own children to experience.
Looking ahead to the 24/25 school year, we are thankful for the opportunity to unite Crossroads Academy, the Footsteps Program, the Restorative Center, and the UCISD Childcare Center all at the Benson Educational Complex. We are thankful to be a part of Uvalde CISD, as we work together with all of our campuses and all district staff to open pathways to success for the students of Uvalde.
