Announcements & Updates
- Today, a school safety drill was conducted to practice the district’s processes and procedures in the event of an emergency. We successfully completed an evacuation with all students and staff. This was a routine drill, and there is no reason for alarm or concern.
- A reminder that school is closed on Friday, May 24 and Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day. When school reopens on Tuesday, May 28, it will be an Related Arts day 3.
- 8th grade parents: If you have not already done so, please review the "May Updates" communication from Mrs. Toth, sent via email on Monday, May 20. A reminder that all 8th grade parents MUST join the Class of 2024 Remind group. Instructions are included in the communication.
- Limited extra copies of the 2023-2024 Mountain View Middle School Yearbook are available for purchase at the cost of $30.00. Please contact Mrs. McGarry in the Main office should your child wish to purchase one.
- In the coming weeks, all current 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th graders will join a "summer" Google Classroom for their rising grade level. There, students will have access to their Summer Reading assignments, suggested Mathematics practice, and additional resources.
-Attention 5th, 6th, & 7th grade parents: A reminder that student Chromebooks and chargers will no longer be collected at the end of the school year. Students will keep their devices over the summer and will keep the same device for all 4 years at Mountain View. If you do not wish for your child to keep his/her device over the summer, please contact the Main office.
- If your family is moving out of the district or relocating to a new home in the district, or if your child will be attending private school next year, please be reminded that proper paperwork must be completed and submitted to the Main office. - The HSA is looking for grade level room parents for the 2024-2025 school year! Room Parents will assist in periodic communications to parents and offer insights and coordination for new and existing events/activities. If interested, or if you have any questions, please email MendhamBoroughHSA@gmail.com .
- For those wishing to get a head start, supply lists for the 2024-2025 school year have been posted to the district website. Click here to access them.
Mendham High School Previews Program for Rising Freshman
What is the purpose of the Previews Program?
The purpose of the Previews program is to help provide a seamless transition from middle school to high school. This two-day program teaches strong habits for academic success, character traits such as persistence and resilience, and critical social-emotional skills.
What topics will the program cover?
● Team and character-building experiences
● Acclimating to the high school environment and preparing for the transition
● Improving organization and study skills
● Handling stress and anxiety
● Using healthy coping skills
● Communicating assertively
● Learning to use technology responsibly
● Meeting other 9th graders, peer leaders, and school staff to begin building positive relationships
● Participating in tours of the high school
● Learning how to open your locker
● Talking to upperclassmen about how to thrive throughout high school
