News from Mr. Hartmann . . .
As we look to finish the year on a strong note, I want to encourage you to take time each day to celebrate the small wins and joys with your children. In the busyness of life, it's easy to focus solely on checking items off the to-do list, all while forgetting to pause and appreciate the little moments along the way. However, it's often in these ordinary instances that we can build strong relationships and self-confidence in our kids.
After a long day of learning and hard work, take a few minutes to sit together as a family and share something that brought a smile to your face or made you feel proud. It can be as simple as a kind word from a friend, accomplishing a difficult task, or showing determination to keep trying even when something doesn't come easily right away. Recognizing and verbalizing these small accomplishments helps reinforce positive behaviors and creates meaningful connections.
Though grades and test scores are important, our relationships with students matter far more. That's why we strive to honor effort over perfection here at school. I encourage you to do the same at home. Celebrate each step in the right direction, no matter how small. Share in the excitement of each achievement. And pause to enjoy the magical moments that occur in between. When we take time to focus on the positive, it fills our kids with confidence to keep aiming high, while also strengthening our bond with them.

"EYE"tastic Opportunity
by Olivia
Read on about a fantastic opportunity you shouldn't miss... You can donate your no longer used eyeglasses to help people of all ages who can't get any glasses to help their poor vision. You can be the person to help someone get the glasses they need to have a better life.
People who need glasses but don't have the resources to get the glasses they need have trouble learning at school or performing at their jobs. These people wish they could see better, and with your help, their wish will come true. Donating your no longer used eyeglasses can help one person, maybe more. What you will do with your donation shows you care about people who can't get eyeglasses. Donating that pair of old eyeglasses to someone in need gives people a new opportunity in their life.
Mr. Gutbrod's Grade 5 class and the Circle-Lex Lions' Club are working together with you to get those needed eyeglasses to people in developing countries. This is an opportunity you should think about participating in this year.
Please send your no longer used eyeglasses to Blue Heron Elementary c/o Mr. Gutbrod's Grade 5 Classroom. We'll do the rest. By taking the time to do this, you are making wishes come true. Thank you.
