EVERYONE LEARNING, EVERYONE LEADING
Dear Longacre Families,
It has been wonderful seeing families at student-led conferences! Student-led conferences empower students to take ownership of their learning. By reflecting on their progress and sharing their goals, students build confidence and develop a deeper understanding of their growth.
As I write my last newsletter I am filled with tremendous gratitude and love for our school family. Here is a summary of lessons I've learned from my 17 years at Longacre in the form of a poem.
All I Really Need to Know, I Learned at Longacre
Inspired by Robert Fulghum's "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten"
I learned to be proactive and always do what's right,
To set clear goals and keep our focus in sight.
I learned that with compassion, we listen and care,
That teamwork makes us stronger when we all share.
I’ve seen the dedication of a staff so true,
Their passion for teaching in all they pursue.
I’ve watched families support with love and grace,
Creating a warm and welcoming place.
I learned to grow through challenges, not fear,
And that teachers and parents make the journey clear.
I learned that joy in learning lights the way,
And with a growth mindset, we can thrive every day.
So as I move on, with gratitude, I say,
Longacre’s spirit will guide me every day.
With Longacre Pride,
~Rhonda Henry
