Green Team - Eco-Bricks Project
The Green Team at Blue Mountain is working with Sustainable, Resilient Longmont to repurpose plastic bags and bottles to build a Little Free Library out of Eco Bricks at the school.
We need donations of plastic BAGS of all sorts and sizes - cereal bags, grocery bags, any soft, flexible plastic. They must be clean and dry - even colorful plastics are accepted! Please bring plastic bags to school.
We also need donations of 20 ounce Gatorade bottles, clean, with caps. We need a total of 30 bottles and we don't have any so far!
Help our Green Team Create Eco-Bricks for Earth Month
The Blue Mountain Green Team is working with Sustainable Resilient Longmont to repurpose plastic bags and bottles to build a Little Free Library out of Eco Bricks at the school!
Help us show some love to Mother Earth at a fun Eco-brick making event on
Wednesday April 23rd from 3:30-5:30 in the Design Den at school!
All families are welcome to pop in and help build Eco-Bricks. Drop in anytime-stay for a little or the whole event! (This is a family event and students need to have an adult with them.)
Please click this link to let us know you'll be at the eco-brick making event!

Camp Lynx Registration for NEXT year (25-26) is now open!
Registration opens for Camp Lynx Before and After School care for the 2025-2026 school year at 7am on Friday, April 4th. Please note that registration opens to the public, not just those currently in our program. This email contains important information related to registration.
To ensure we continue to provide high-quality, dedicated staff and robust programming, we are implementing new pricing for the first time in nearly a decade. Scholarships to support financial aid are available. Please contact the Community Schools office, 303-702-7924, for additional information.
2025-2026 Daily Care Rates:
AM Care: $16/day
PM Care: $20/day
Registration is a two-step process. Families are first required to register their child through RevTrak, the online platform Community Schools uses, at StVrain.RevTrak.net. After completing the registration, families must log into their online account to individually select their anticipated days of care using the calendar feature. Due to limited availability, families are encouraged to register early and select their anticipated days of care immediately. Families can always deselect days at a later date.
The RevTrak system works best from a desktop computer using either a Firefox or Chrome browser. It does not work well with mobile phones or on the Safari browser. Families will be asked to submit the following information upfront and should prepare accordingly:
- Parent(s) Driver’s License
- Child’s Emergency Contact Information (at least two individuals that are not parents/guardians)
- Child’s Primary Doctor, Dentist, and Preferred Hospital Information (including phone numbers and addresses)
- Child’s Individual Health and Educational Information

Milk Caps and Marker Recycling at Blue Mountain!
Happy Spring! We love to recycle at Blue Mountain; here are a couple opportunities to do so, and to help the school in the process:
Milk Caps for Moolah - Don't forget to save your Longmont Dairy milk caps, we'll take them year round! The collection bin is near the front office. Look for our friend Mootilda, ready to eat your clean caps and rings off your glass bottles. No other items/trash, please, and NO need to scrub, but a quick rinse is appreciated. Bag them or send them loose. This is a great and easy fundraiser for the school, each cap earns us five cents! Any questions or need to schedule a pickup? Contact Becca Mayernik at thalia657@gmail.com
Marker Recycling with Staples - If your school supplies are reaching the end of their usable life, please collect up any dried out pens or markers (highlighters and dry erase are fine too!), even glue sticks! Staples will take these for recycling, and we can keep them out of the landfills. You can find boxes near the front office, in the pods, or in the art room. Thanks for your help making Blue Mountain a little greener!
