South Cooperative Theater is excited to announce that our spring musical will be Disney’s Aladdin JR. Disney’s Aladdin JR. is based on the 1992 Academy Award-winning film and the 2014 hit Broadway show about the “diamond in the rough” street rat who learns that his true worth lies deep within.
The story you know and love has been given the royal treatment! Aladdin and his three friends, Babkak, Omar, and Kassim, are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes. Wanting to earn the respect of the princess, Jasmine, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will test his will and his moral character. With expanded characters, new songs, and more thrills, this new adaptation of the beloved story will open up “a whole new world” for our South School performers!
Auditions for interested students in grade 3-4-5 will be held after Thanksgiving break – more details have been sent to families of students in those grades.
There will be three performances of Aladdin Jr. – March 7, 8, and 9. Performances will be held at West Middle School auditorium. We look forward to seeing you there!

Thanksgiving meals for those in need:
The Village Food HUB (23 Clark Road, Andover, MA) is preparing traditional Thanksgiving meals for those in need. These will be picked up or delivered on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Please see below for links to make requests for meals from The Village Food Hub. If you have any special requirements, please email Shari McLeod at S.mcleod@villagefoodhub.org.
In addition, The Village Food HUB plans to do a holiday meal in mid-December to encompass the many December holidays. We will share more information on that meal in early December when we receive the sign-up links.

If you are interested in helping us support a South Elementary family during this winter season, please purchase a gift card from Target or Market Basket in $10 increments. You can choose the denomination amount of your choice but please be sure to write the amount on the card and/or include the receipt. All students are able to receive 1 free breakfast and 1 free lunch daily during the 2024-2025 school year. Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria from 8:45 - 9:00 and does not need to be ordered ahead of time.
Lunches will need be preordered. It is very important that our cafeteria has an accurate lunch count each day. Please review with your children each morning what you have ordered for them.
