Valentine's Day Information...
Valentine's Day will be here before we know it. The information for the Cubs Valentines was sent home in your child's bag Thursday. A class list was included. We do ask that you encourage your child to help sign their cards. We suggest having your child write their first letter and you can finish the rest. This will be great practice for them. It's a lot of work, We encourage you to do a few each night. We would like your child to practice cutting. We have the list made so your child only has to make straight cuts to separate the names and glue them on. Glue sticks make the best glue for gluing names to the Valentines. If you need a glue stick, please ask. We would gladly help you out.
We are making Valentine bags here at school DO NOT make and/or send in a Valentine box/bag for your child. We have a special system to help your child identify their classmates' names. Thank you!

From the Teachers' Desks...
Do you look in your child's bag each night after school? Do you ask your child about their day? Showing an interest in your child's education helps them realize that this is important. These are great conversation starters. If your child doesn't talk about their day, asking about the contents in their bag may help stimulate conversation. Or you may have to ask specific questions, like what did you color today? Did you build with the blocks? Did you read books? Did you play in the kitchen? These are just a few ideas to help generate a conversation.
Don't forget to count the good choice bears!!! Are you saving them and keeping track of them? Have you set a goal for your child regarding how many bears to earn? These are all important in helping your child see the importance of good choices and how it is important to you as well.
Remember, if you have a question, please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you!!
