Dear Families,

The Pershing Counseling Department in collaboration with representatives from Cal-SOAP will be providing a College: Making It Happen Presentation this Wednesday, March 20 at 6 PM in the Pershing Auditorium. This presentation will cover the college application process, requirements for community colleges, CSU, UC, and private universities, financial aid and scholarship planning, as well as information on the benefits and challenges of AP courses. It's never too early to start thinking about college and this presentation is a great roadmap to help ensure families have the necessary information to set their child up for success in this competitive world of college admissions. We hope you will be able to attend. Our Foundation also is sponsoring a dine out at the Santee Board N'Brew at Santee, feel free to grab a few sandwiches and come to the presentation or visit Board N'Brew afterwords and chat with your family about what you learned while you enjoy one of their delicious sub sandwiches.

If you are 8th grader interested in getting a jump start on your high school courses this summer, Patrick Henry is offering a CCTE Career Pathway Internship Course. Simply print the CCTE Summer School Course form, complete the form and turn it in to your counselor. If you have any questions please contacting the Pershing Counseling Department.

SHIFTING TO MICROSOFT TEAMS

At the end of this month SDUSD will no longer be utilizing zoom for online video meetings and conferences. Instead, SDUSD schools are shifting to Microsoft Teams as the platform we will be utilizing for online video meetings and conferences.

Tdap VACCINATION NEEDED FOR ALL FUTURE 7th GRADERS

A friendly reminder that before students can enter 7th grade they need a Tdap booster. We know how challenging it can be to get appointments so if your child is currently in 6th grade don't forget to ask your physician about scheduling their Tdap booster.

SPORTS PHOTOS FOR THE YEARBOOK

Yearbook needs your help. We are including the Pershing sports teams in the yearbook but we need pictures. If you happen to have any pictures that we can use, please sent them our way. We have plenty of track pictures. We are still in need of both girls and boys basketball as well as the new sports that are starting, soccer and volleyball. MSA WRESTLING REGISTRATION – SPRING

Coach Litvin from the Henry Wrestling Program wanted to make sure all female athletes are aware there is still space to join the girl's wrestling program. He is working in partnership with Lewis Middle to create a boys middle school team and a separate girls middle school team for students in the Henry Cluster. Sixth grade camp is fast approaching, and we wanted to share with you the student packing list provided by Camp Cuyamaca. A hard copy of this packing list was also sent home with sixth grade students earlier in the week.
