This week has been a busy week but full of lots of fun and learning, with had book fair visits and safety week! We have been learning about how to be safe through demonstrations from the EMA, police, and fire departments. We learned what emergencies we should call 911 for, how to stop, drop and roll, and how officers are they to help us.
Thank you to our wonderful community helpers!
First Grade Friends
Special Spotlight: P.E.
We have finished our introductory ways of moving in the gymnasium for our First Graders in Physical Education! We started working on how we throw this week with a game called Clean out the Backyard. As we continue over the next few weeks, we will cover how we can aim as well as adjust the throw to throw it straighter or higher depending on what type of target we are aiming for.
If your student is trying to work on throwing at home:
Turn to your side with your body between the ball and the target
Make an L with your throwing arm
Step forward with your opposite foot
Twist as you throw

As part of our commitment to effective communication with our families, we are excited to announce that we now have three dedicated phone lines available for families who speak Uzbek, Russian, or Spanish. By calling these numbers, families will first be connected to an interpreter before being routed to the district office and the appropriate building.

Imagination Library- Free Books!
DID YOU KNOW? By the age of three, a child’s brain is already 80% developed, and, by the time a child enters kindergarten, they must already know thousands of words in order to succeed in the classroom. Reading aloud to a child and giving them access to books is the best way to ensure they are prepared to enter kindergarten.
The Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library wants to start a new chapter in early childhood literacy throughout Ohio by providing families with books. With the goal of preparing students entering Kindergarten for success in the classroom, the Imagination Library program will send a customized book to your child each month from birth until age five. Sign up is easy and FREE! Give your Panther the gift of reading & enroll today.
