February 16, 2025
Dear Sanborn Families,
The past two weeks at Sanborn have been full of learning, excitement, and community spirit! Last week, we successfully held an eLearning day, allowing our students to continue learning and connecting with their teachers from home. While the weather didn’t turn out to be as significant as forecasted, we are incredibly proud of how quickly our staff, students, and families adapted. Teachers provided engaging online lessons, and students showed great responsibility by participating in their virtual classrooms. We appreciate your flexibility and support in ensuring that learning never skips a beat—no matter the weather!
On Friday, February 14, our students participated in Jump Rope for Heart, an event that promotes heart health and raises awareness for the American Heart Association. Not only did they have fun, but they also contributed to a meaningful cause, emphasizing the value of kindness and giving back. A big thank you to our P.E. teacher Mr. Merle for organizing such a positive and energetic event!
Also on February 14, our hallways were filled with excitement as we celebrated Valentine’s Day with classroom parties. These celebrations were a wonderful opportunity for students to share kindness and enjoy time with their classmates. We were incredibly grateful to welcome more than 65 parent volunteers who took time out of their day to help facilitate activities, organize games, and make the day extra special for our students. Your support makes a world of difference, and we deeply appreciate your involvement in our school community.
As we move forward, we remain committed to fostering a learning environment where every student and family feels welcomed, valued, and supported. Thank you for partnering with us to make Sanborn such a vibrant and caring place.

Help our Families affected by the fire at Country Glen
Partners for our Communities (POC) is working with those displaced from the Country Glen fire last week. Several District 15 families have been displaced and are in need of help. At this point the POC is not asking for donations of clothing. The immediate need is financial donations to help people pay new rent and recover their lives. Please consider making a donation here to help support our D15 families.
