Hello from the Front Desk!

Well, there went January! What crazy weather we had last month! Even though temperatures are above normal and there isn't much snow, please send boots and snowpants with your child. They will need these to play on the field, as well as to stay dry on the playground.

February is usually a fast month with all of the school activities, and a week off from school. You can keep up on all the activities by checking out the newsletters, the school calendar, and the teacher emails.

Over the holiday break, we shared the link below. While some of the contacts/programs reference past dates, it's still an excellent listing of some of the resources out there for parents/guardians.

Volunteers Needed!

Book Fair time! Such a fun experience in the Media Center. There will also be some evening hours if we are able to fill shifts. Stop by after conferences!

eWallet is the best way to shop at the fair! Set one up for your student now for effortless shopping next week! We do accept cash, check or credit card (when parent/guardian present). Make sure to add the Money by Monday, February 5th.

We have some opportunities to help at the book fair- either during the day or in the evening! Have your student come and help you in the evening!

Students will shop during their scheduled media time on February 5th- February 8th. The Book Fair will be open Tuesday and Thursday after school for a few hours, if there are volunteers.

What do I do if my child is going to be absent from school?

Email lesterattendance@isd709.org (the office & nurse will both see these emails)
or call attendance line 336-8875 then “3” to leave a recorded message
Please list specific symptoms, especially: fever (and how high), sore throat, cough, vomiting and/or diarrhea.
Teachers may have a preferred way for you to report an absence to them.

If the office does not know why a student is absent, an automated phone call and an email message will be sent out at sometime between 8:30-9:00. This is for safety reasons.
