World Mental Health Day | October 10
World Mental Health Day is observed on October 10 every year to raise awareness of mental health issues worldwide and mobilize efforts in support of mental health.
At WHS, we work to ensure that there are many layers of support that surround each student. Our goal is that if a student needs help, they can obtain support by choosing several options.
The "Need Emotional Support" option on our webpage provides students a way to reach out and ask for support privately. Based on the student's initial request, a staff member will reach out to first ensure their safety and well-being and then listen. Often students need someone to listen as they process concerns they are having. Based on the issue, the responding staff member will assist the student in making connections to family members or other supportive WHS faculty who can help.

Student Classroom Expectations
As we continue to strive for academic excellence, it’s essential to adhere to the following expectations:
Attendance and Punctuality: You must attend every class, every day, and be on time. Regular attendance is crucial for your success.
Preparedness: Bring all necessary materials to class each day. You will not be excused from class to retrieve forgotten items.
Homework and Classwork: Complete all assignments on time and to the best of your ability. This is vital to your learning and progress.
Behavior: Only behaviors that support the learning environment are acceptable. Respect your classmates, your teachers, and the educational process.
Compliance: Follow all reasonable requests made by any staff member. Cooperation is key to maintaining a positive and productive environment.
Dress Code: The dress code will be enforced. Please ensure you are dressed appropriately according to the school’s guidelines.
Thank you for your attention to these important matters. Let’s work together to create a successful and respectful learning environment.
Attendance Counts
Please remember that attendance counts, every period, every day. Students will be marked absent if they are not present at the beginning of each period to verify their attendance.
All single-period absences will need to be reconciled through the attendance office by the student. If marked absent, student and parent/guardian will receive a notification from the attendance office informing them of the absence. The notification will include the date and period of the absence. The student will need to contact the Attendance Department to make any necessary corrections to their individual period attendance. For full-day absences, a parent/guardian must contact the attendance office by the end of the day.
Attendance Reporting Hotline:
