Food and Nutrition Policy
PVUSD Food and Nutrition Policy : PLEASE TALK TO YOUR CHILD's Teacher before sending anything for classroom celebrations.
Birthday celebrations will be organized ONE TIME A MONTH, with a focus on healthy options. (please do not bring food without connecting directly with your child’s teacher)
We will no longer allow food-based treats for individual student birthday celebrations. Students may bring in pencils, bookmarks, bouncy balls, bubbles, etc. to share with their classmates on their actual birthday. However, cupcakes/sweet treats and pizza are not to be brought to school, unless previously arranged with the teacher for the monthly celebration.
Other classroom celebrations , such as a class behavior-related celebratory party (i.e. We filled our marble jar earning marbles for our stellar behavior choices!), or a holiday-related party (i.e. Valentine’s Day; Halloween) will take place on occasion, but healthy snack and drink choices must also be provided for students wishing to stay away from the less healthful foods.
>>>>>>>Please do not send your child with Candy or Takis/Hot Cheetos/Other Messy Chips
PLEASE
Leave the candy, Takis/Hot Cheetos and Messy Chips at home.
Birthday Celebrations may occur once a month and need to be organized with the classroom teacher.
Leave phones at home.
Kindness ROCKS!
