Donate Gently Used Legos for Indoor Recess!
As we transition to indoor lunch recess, we’re seeking donations of gently used Legos for students to enjoy in our Student Center, fostering creativity during indoor recess. If you’d like to contribute, please drop off donations at the MS Office throughout November, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
PBIS Spotlight - 6th Grade Green House Building Community
Each week, 6th grade Green House students and staff gather for a house meeting to celebrate student successes, group achievements, and birthdays!
These meetings have fostered camaraderie and a supportive community among students. This week, students cheered on their peers for acts like "taking initiative without being asked" and "lending a helping hand."
After-School Intervention Available for 6th and 7th Grade
Shortly after our fall break, we will start after school intervention groups for our 6th and 7th graders. Our teachers, trained in intervention programs, will run these groups.
Groups will consist of 4-5 students and run during our study table session. Students who participate will work 30 minutes in their small group with the teacher and then spend the other 30 minutes studying or completing classwork.
Students will be scheduled one day per week from 2:20-3:20 pm. Bussing home is available.
If your student would benefit from additional math and reading support, please review the qualification factors below:
Students who are not currently enrolled in an intervention group during the school day (these students are already receiving the same intervention program we will be using after school)
Students who can consistently commit to attending after school Tuesday or Thursday (one day per week)
Students who are struggling with math and/or reading
Spots are limited. If you are interested in reserving a spot for your student, please complete this form by Friday, November 1, and someone will contact you with more information.
8th Grade Intervention: Learning Labs
8th-grade students have an amazing opportunity to enroll in a Learning Lab (math or reading) as one of their encore classes and receive intervention support from their certified teacher and a trained interventionist.
If you or your student is interested in this class, please contact the building Principal, Courtney MacDonald or counselor, Jacob Ray.
Support Our Community: SLC Food Drive
Our Student Leadership Council (SLC) is hosting a food drive, and we invite all students and families to participate! Please consider donating non-perishable food items, which will be distributed locally to support those in need in our community.
4th-hour classes will compete to bring in the most donations, with the winning class earning a pizza or ice cream party at lunch. Individual prizes will also be awarded!
The drive begins on Monday, Nov. 4, and runs through Thursday, Nov. 14. Let’s come together to make a difference!
Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found is overflowing! If your student is missing a sweatshirt, pants, folders, lunch boxes, or water bottles, please remind them to check the Lost and Found in the cafeteria near the recess exit doors. Unclaimed items will be donated on November 8.
