Parent-Teacher Conferences Oct. 16-17
Registration opens Oct. 2.
WHEN ARE CONFERENCES? This fall, we will offer parents live, online interactions with our teachers during Parent-Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, October 16 from 4:30-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 17 from 12:00- 8:00 p.m. Conferences are one of the most valuable tools we have to foster our strong partnerships between home and school. Beginning with fall’s conferences, we will be using Google Meet as our video conference and we will create a Conference Link Directory that will be shared with you closer to the start of conferences. If, for any reason, you require an in-person conference with a teacher, please get in touch with the teacher or the school front office, and we will work with you to find a meeting time.
WHEN DOES REGISTRATION OPEN? Conference registration will open on Wednesday, October 2 at 6:00 a.m. and will continue through Friday, October 11 at 3:00 p.m. Conference scheduler login information will be sent to the primary contact email for your student, along with step-by-step instructions for registering. Please keep an eye open for this information. Registration codes and directions will also be available in Parent Portal on form 2024-25 School Year Information.
WHAT TO EXPECT: During conferences, your classroom teacher will discuss academic and social-emotional goals, discuss how the learning experience is progressing at school and at home, and share details about the classroom community with you. This is a collaborative meeting between families and teachers when we can answer your questions. We are so proud of our students and their strong start. Thank you so much for your ongoing support and partnership.

Student screening update
Pilot supports social-emotional needs
Maple School continues to create a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. This includes reviewing our social and emotional learning curriculum, as well as our preventative measures to support all students’ social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs. In addition to programs like Snowflake, Erika’s Lighthouse, RULER, Illuminate, and our Advisory’s Social Emotional Learning curriculum, Maple School will reintroduce a universal screener for all students on Monday, September 30. This universal screener will help Maple School provide the necessary prevention through early identification and interventions to ensure all students have access to the mental health, social, emotional, behavioral, and academic support they need to succeed in school.
Maple School will implement the SAEBRS universal screener (SAEBRS: Social, Academic, Emotional, Behavior Risk Screener). Students and teachers will complete a short questionnaire, which will explore social, academic, and emotional behaviors.
Parent(s)/Guardian(s) will be notified by a Maple school social worker or school psychologist if the results of the SAEBRS identify a child as at-risk or qualify for an intervention. The next steps may include support and resources such as school counseling interventions, mental health resources from the community, and/or additional classroom support. The SAEBRS will be administered twice per year.

A simple "thank you" or a personal note can really make someone's day. Would you like to send a positive postcard to a teacher or a staff member? Please follow these steps in this short presentation, and if you have any questions, please contact Jeanie Moran from the Tech Team.

Maple Battle of the Books Club
Attention all 6th-graders who love to read!

We will read from this list, help coach the elementary teams, discuss the books, strategize ways to remember details, and host mini-competitions against each other. At the club's end, we will have our final competition, prizes included. We will also work together to shape the club's future, including creating a new list for next year based on your suggestions and feedback.
Middle School Battle of the Books club will take place after school on Tuesdays. The first meeting will be on October 8. For more information, please contact the club sponsor Mrs. April Eichmiller at aeichmiller@district30.org
