Hello SVDP Community,

May is always busy here at SVDP. Our 2nd grade celebrated their First Communion and many of our 8th graders celebrated their Confirmation. See below for more activities and important dates.

Contracts for the 2022-2023 school year will be sent to families next week via DocuSign. As this is a new process for SVDP, we expect some hiccups, but are hopeful that long term, this digital system will make the contract process more efficient for everyone.

We are excited to announce the following updates regarding our faculty / staff for the 2022-2023 school year!

Hi! I'm Ms. D and I am so excited to be the 6th grade teacher next

year at SVDP! I went to Cal Poly, and I got my teaching credential at
San Francisco State. I love Harry Potter, sushi, watching movies, and
walking by the water in the Marina!

I am looking forward to my new journey in the middle school! I am proud that Anna Strain and I will now be the official "bookends" at Saint Vincent de Paul. We will continue to advise the Student Council together and continue the traditions of the kindergarten and 8th buddy relationships. The class of 2023 is the only class that I have not had the privilege of teaching, so I am eager to get to know and work with the students and families. I am confident that the class of 2023 and I are going to have an energetic, fun, positive, and memorable year. Go Vikings!

Hi! I am so excited to be joining the SVDP team and community. I am a licensed AMFT with a degree in counseling from the The Wright Institute in Berkeley. I am the Social-Emotional and Learning Services Coordinator. When not working, I enjoy going to the beach with my two dogs, cooking, watching sports, and spending time with friends and family.

Beginning today, we are sending each student home with a box of five COVID test kits. These kits were provided by the city and state, however, the printed expiration date has passed. The letter below from the the California Department of Public Health indicates that these (and other brands) kits can be reliably used until further notice.

These kits are for your family to use as needed, but please remember that we will be asking each student to test before returning to school on May 31, after the Memorial Day holiday.

The Parent Guild Board is soliciting your participation in the '22-'23 school year. We have several positions open in leadership and/or committee participation. Please let us know if you are interested in any of the following areas (or just volunteering in general) and a member of the Board will be in touch with you.

Vice President - Looking for someone to shadow our current Vice President (Noelle Roost) and take over the position in the '23-'24 school year.

Treasurer - Looking for someone to shadow our current Treasurer (Taline Fournouzian) to learn the ropes of Parent Guild finances and then take over as lead at some point in the future.

Sunshine Committee - Looking for someone to lead the overall effort that supports our teachers and parent community through such things as monthly teacher lunches, the Christmas holiday Honor Our Teachers (HOT) Fund, etc.

Community Service - Looking for individuals to lead and support our efforts to support our community members in need, including through such activities as monthly sandwich making projects, hygiene kits for homeless shelters, Easter baskets for needy families, etc.

Events - Anel Muller is the PG Events Chair and is looking for two individuals to lead the '22-'23 Father Daughter Dinner Dance planning effort, which begins in September of '22.
