Civility Conference
Seaholm will have a revised schedule for the Civil Dialogue Conference today (10/24).
There will be no shuttles during the day to and from Groves EXCEPT at the start and end of the day.
Seaholm is excited to offer two community conversations during the 2024-25 school year that encourage our students, faculty, and family members to elevate and support civil dialogue. Our first event, the Creating a Better World through Dialogue Conference, will be held on Thursday, October 24th during the school day at Seaholm. Our keynote speakers are Stephen Henderson and Nolan Finley, the founders of The Civility Project, and our individual sessions will include Seaholm faculty members Kellie Vagts discussing art and democracy, Kellie Howe discussing the famous Tinker v. Des Moines free speech case, Wayne State professor Richard Marback, and a Seaholm student/faculty panel on having difficult conversations in the classroom.
Keynote Speakers:
Nolan Finley and Stephen Henderson of the Civility Project
Richard Marback, Wayne State Professor and Research Fellow Center for the Study of Citizenship
Seaholm Faculty, Kellie Howe and Kellie Vagts
Seaholm Faculty and Student Panel

Celebrated journalists Nolan Finley and Stephen Henderson have been longtime friends, despite their different perspectives on pretty much everything. The one thing they agree on is the importance of their friendship—which includes a healthy dose of disagreement and mutual respect.

Clubs & Extra Curriculars
SAT Club
Each year, colleges become more and more selective. With the increasing competition, colleges look at standardized results to compare students, the most common of which being the SAT. Although a strong SAT score cannot guarantee admission, as the college application process is holistic, a weak score will bring an application down. Here at the SAT Club, we aim to educate students on the intricacies of the SAT so that they may get closer to their target score.

First Fridays
The Seaholm parent community recognizes the staff throughout the year on the First Friday ( or second if there is a vacation or half day) of each month. All Seaholm staff member's names are placed in a drawing at the beginning of the year ,and each month names are selected at random for a chance to win one of the many gifts provided by the wonderful community of Seaholm families. The goal is that by the end of the year, every Seaholm staff member has received a gift. Therefore, we need many donations to make this happen! The gift is usually in the $20 and up range and has been anything from gift cards, household items, event tickets, or anything you feel is appropriate. Please consider donating by signing up below. If you are able, please sign up to recognize and thank our teachers for all they do.
Send Venmo Donations to : @SeaholmPTA
Seaholm Monthly Staff Treats
Each month the Seaholm parent community and PTA provide a fun treat for the Seaholm staff. The treats are set up in the staff lounge with a note of gratitude for all they do. The note also includes the name of the Seaholm family who sponsored the treats. This is a simple way to help add some fun to the day of our Seaholm staff!
If your family would like to help sponsor one of the monthly treat days, you can Venmo $150 to @SeaholmHS-PTA. Please include the family name you would like included on the sign placed with the treats.
