As we joyfully enter the last week of the 2023-2024 school year, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the Matanzas High School community for all the support you provide to our school. We had a great school year this year at Matanzas, we are very proud of our students' accomplishments, and are looking forward to all that the upcoming school year will bring. I wish all of our students and their families a happy and healthy summer vacation, we can't wait to welcome you back to "The Ship" on August 12, 2024 for the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year!

Matanzas HS Parent Input Survey
The administration of MHS, in collaboration with our School Advisory Council (SAC), have created the following survey to gather your input as a parent or legal guardian of a student a Matanzas High School. We ask that you take a few minutes to complete this brief survey, which will be used to formulate school improvement goals for the 24-25 school year. There is also a student version of the survey which will be shared via Schoology. Please complete this survey by May 24th.
Early Release Bell Schedule - 5/22 & 5/23
Tuesday - PBIS Carnival
On Tuesday, we will be holding our annual PBIS carnival. Students in grades 9, 10 and 11 will be eligible to attend if they have no discipline referrals in the 4th quarter. Students will receive wristbands on Monday with their name on it which make them eligible to attend. Students should dress comfortably as we have bouncey games and lots of fun! Students should also bring money if they wish to purchase food or treats from one of the food trucks we have coming that day.
Registration and Device Forms for 24-25
Parents - the required forms for returning students for the 24-25 school year are now open! Please visit the link below to complete these forms, including Student Device Registration. Any student participating in a summer program must complete these forms prior to having their laptop re-issued for summer programs. All returning students are required to complete these forms prior to scheduling an appointment to collect their devices. Device distribution for the 2024-2025 school year will begin in July.

Attendance Procedures - Week of May 20
MHS will be following normal attendance procedures for the Week of May 20-23rd, including check out procedures. Students needing to be dismissed early from school should bring a note from home, or parents should email mhsattendance@flaglerschools.com or be signed out from the front office by a parent or legal guardian.
Parents wishing for absences to be excused for this week due to the recent events in Flagler County Schools should send attendance excusal notes to mhsattendance@flaglerschools.com
🎓 Senior Class Information 🎓
Graduation Rehearsal - Monday 8:30AM
All seniors participating in graduation should attend a mandatory rehearsal at Matanzas High School on Monday, May 20th beginning at 8:30AM. Students should report to the Gymnasium. Bring your cap and gown, as we will be walking the halls of MHS at the conclusion of the rehearsal!
Graduation Ceremony Information
Seniors and their families attending graduation - all seniors must be in the Exhibit Hall at the Ocean Center at 1:30PM. Doors open for families and guests at 2PM. Please leave yourselves plenty of time for travel and parking at the Ocean Center.
Parking Passes are required for all vehicles parking at the Ocean Center and can be purchased Monday at graduation rehearsal for $5 each (cash or check). Parking passes may also be purchased on-site at the Ocean Center the day of the event for $10.
All attendees and guests at the Ocean Center are required to have a ticket for graduation. Students in need of additional tickets will be able to obtain some at graduation rehearsal on Monday.
Florida Bright Futures Application Information
If you have qualified for or will qualify for the Florida Financial Aid Application Scholarships (Bright Futures Awards) you MUST complete your Florida Financial Aid Application BEFORE YOU GRADUATE to receive any potential award money! Please request the quick guide tutorial from your school counselor if needed (the guide was also supplied to you in the College & Career prep packet). If you qualify for a scholarship and plan to attend college in Fall 2024, you will NOT receive the award money if this application is not completed BEFORE you graduate.

Hurricane Ian Relief
After many of our families were directly impacted by Hurricane Ian in September 2022, new assistance is now available to help!
You can apply now for Rebuild Florida Housing Repair and Replacement Program aid which may be able to help repair or replace homes damaged as a result of Hurricane Ian.
