Message from Mr. Kingery
Dear Art Rutkin Families,
We are looking forward to celebrating our staff next week during our staff appreciations Monday-Friday. We are so grateful for the support of our PSO and families who have all helped make this an exceptional first year at Art Rutkin Elementary. We also want to thank our PSO and families for supporting fundraising efforts this year. Our 4th and 5th grade students enjoyed field trips today. The 4th graders went downtown to perform in the Link Up Concert with all TTSD 4th graders. Our 5th graders experienced the Aurora Colony field trip where some highlights included making bread and candles while learning about 19th Century living during earlier times located at the end of the Oregon Trail.
Just this week our kindergarteners were able to release their class butterflies in the garden after learning about their life cycle in class. They had a sunny day to celebrate their release. Our 2nd graders celebrated with a writing project with an Author Party. Parents of 2nd graders were able to see their children's published book with all their classmates writing about the animals they researched and illustrated. We will keep the fun and celebrations going through the end of the year!
We want everyone to know that Mr. Bill, our Day Specialist Custodian, will be out for several weeks recovering from a foot injury. We are in good hands with another building specialist, Gabby, who is taking care of our students, staff and campus during this time. Students and staff are sharing well wishes with Mr. Bill, and also appreciations for Gabby. Get well Mr. Bill, and thank you Gabby!
Our end of year planning continues to happen. The next Art Rutkin PSO meeting will be on Monday, May 13th, at 6:00 PM. Please join us in our school library, or virtually using this link. PSO Meeting.
Enjoy a wonderful weekend,
Mr. Kingery
