BHS Monthly Update
February 2025
As we continue our journey through the school year, we want to emphasize the importance of not only attending school regularly and completing your assignments but also focusing on being responsible, respectful, and safe in everything you do.
Consistent attendance and staying engaged with your schoolwork are key to achieving strong grades and academic success. Being present in class, participating in lessons, and staying up to date with assignments all contribute to building the skills and knowledge you need to reach your goals.
Equally important is how we treat each other and ourselves. Being responsible means staying on top of your responsibilities, whether it’s your schoolwork, behavior, or actions. Being respectful involves showing kindness and understanding to those around you, and being safe means making choices that protect yourself and others.
When you make good decisions both academically and personally, you create an environment where everyone can thrive. Together, we can ensure that every student has the support and tools they need to succeed in a positive and safe school community.
Thank you for your commitment to excellence, and for helping to make our school a respectful, responsible, and safe place for all.

Cold Mornings!
The mornings are definitely cold now. As a reminder, students are not allowed into the building until 7:45 as that is the earliest time we have staff on campus to supervise. Please try to keep students from coming to the building until then.
Make an Appointment
The administrative team is busy supporting students and staff each day. The majority of their time is needing to be in classrooms, PLCs, and present for the students and staff. If you would like to make an appointment to meet with one of them, please either call the school or come in and complete an appointment card. They will get back to you within 24 hours to set up an appointment.
Additionally, if you need to meet with someone from the guidance office, please either call, email, or come in to make an appointment as well. Unfortunately, due to our schedules we are not able to meet on the spot as we all have full schedules in supporting our students and staff.
Thank you in advance for helping us make an appointment by calling, emailing, or coming in to complete an appointment form. We look forward to setting up an appointment and working with you for the success of our students.
Attendance and Tardies
Attendance will be taken the first five minutes of each class period.
Please send in a written note or email to the front office to excuse any absences within 48 hours of the absence for it to be verified. The email needs to go to: bhs-office@bsin.k12.nm.us
In order to try to reduce the number of tardies this year, we will be making adjustments to the consequences in hopes of changing this student behavior.
**If students are tardy to either 1st period (beginning of the day) or 5th period (after lunch), students will be escorted to ISS for the remainder of the morning/afternoon unless a parent/guardian checks them into the front office.
** If students are tardy to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, or 7th period they will go to ISS for the day once they have reached four tardies in the same class period.
Please speak to your student about the importance of being on time and being in class.
Please continue to partner with us and remind your child to follow the school wide expectations in being responsible, respectful and safe. We have had several situations occur already this school year that have resulted from students not following the BOLD expectations. We appreciate your support in reminding students of their responsibilities at school. We greatly value your partnership!
