Principal's Note
Dear Mariposa Families,
We are so excited about our Starstruck Dance Performance coming next week on December 18th! Our students have been working hard and practicing their dances. I am so proud at how excited and involved they are in their dances!
Thank you to those families who participated in our first school fundraiser. We raised over $3,000 through our Cookie Dough Sales to support our PBIS Program, field trips, technology needs and other school and classroom needs. We appreciate your support!
As the year draws to a close and we prepare to embrace the holiday season, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful journey we’ve shared together and express my heartfelt gratitude for being part of our vibrant school community. Kindness is our Character Trait this month and I look forward to all the acts of Kindness our young people show everyday; especially in the next two weeks.
This year has been filled with growth, learning, and countless moments of joy. From Movie Night, Trunk or Treat, Student Council Meetings, our PBIS Character Trait Assemblies, Starstruck Dance, our weekly Recess Rules Classes to the everyday interactions that bring warmth and connection to our hallways, it’s clear that our community thrives because of the dedication and partnership of everyone involved.
The holiday season is a time to celebrate the spirit of togetherness, gratitude, and giving. Whether through acts of kindness, moments of reflection, or cherished traditions, we encourage our students and families to embrace the values that make this time of year so special.
As we look ahead to the new year we are excited about the opportunities that await us. Together, we will continue to foster a learning environment where every student feels supported, inspired, and valued.
I wish you and your loved ones a joyful and peaceful holiday season. May this time be filled with laughter, love, and memorable moments. We look forward to welcoming you back in the new year, refreshed and ready for new learning and adventures.
Warmest Wishes,
Kristin Finney

Attendance Matters!!
Each Month students who have 100% Attendance are rewarded with a perfect attendance award and little attendance tag.
As of December 2nd there are 19 days until the Winter Break! Look for Ms. Mindy who will be spreading some Holiday Cheer!
We know that things happen but being on time and present every day is very important. Parents get 10 parent verified illnesses a year, if you bring in a doctors note it gets coded differently and keeps parent illness codes available for emergencies or even just for a mental health day if needed. Most absences occur at the end of school and around the holidays. Three tardy days add up to one absence. if you know your child is going to be absent please call our attendance line at 916-971-5212 , email mariposaabsence@sanjuan.edu or on the San Juan app
